Okay i need to get a new foundation… i found this one from covergirl that matches my skin perfectly but i wanna try other brands too… now im really confused, the color i get, Soft honey, it looks really really dark on the package, but on my skin it looks perfect 
and im not dark skinned at all.. so i dunno how to go about getting another brand like loreal or revlon, color-wise.. i really dont wanna spend $$$ for personalized stuff from lancome or estee lauder..

go to any department store....the girls will match you the right shade...but ya try it on and come outside with a mirror to get a better look....cant really tell with the floursecnt (sp?)lights...i would still say go with chanel but u dont wanna spend too much $$

Hmm...Well, I personally am a huuuge fan of Chanel but I saw that you don't want to spend too much.
As far as I know, if you go to a department store, I believe the cheapest brand there would be Clinique. Most of their foundations are around $20 and they have tons of different shades. And they also do the whole "free gift with purchase" thing often. You should go to their web site and check out all the different "kinds" of foundations, shades and the exact prices.

YUeah i'm on macy's website right now... im looking at lancome, estee lauder and mac... they all seem pretty reasonable, $20 to $40... if i ever spent $50 for chanel, my mother would kill me!! :D

BTW, be careful with MAC foundations. Their eyeshadows are awesome but I once bought a foundation from them and it sucked! The shade looked fine on me in the store but when I walked out it looked much lighter…also after a few hours it got cakey on my face. I’ve had friends who has similar experiences from their foundation.

Yeah Nia, i think i’ll splurge on a dept store one for hte first time I got some free sample of the lancome one in HS, so i might get that I’d get foundation from pak but they all have icky white chalky stuff.. my cousins saw my foundation and they were all shocked coz it’s so dark..

Personally what suits me is Clinique or Neutrogena cuz of my uber sensitive skin.

I have tried the following : (I have olive toned skin which gets tanned/brown in summer).
Clinique: Color looked fine on me in the store but when i walked out it was too dark. Next time it was too light and hence I was told they dont have a color for me. Dont like thier products anyways.
Mary Kay: Pretty good foundation but ofcourse couldnt match color to my skin.
MAC: the color matched exactly to my skin tone. 
Unfortunately i didnt leave it for too long to see if it cakes up or not.
Neutrogena: The stuff for acne prone skin was too drying for my oily skin and the color wouldnt match ofcourse.
So I have come back to using the drugstore stuff: Maybelline express stuff and tehn CG at times. Cheap and a color that actually matches my skin.

Yeah Ira it stumps me, it looks so dark but it looks absolutely fine on me... check the eyemakeup thread in image 3 right now or my journal, so thas what confuses me... that sucks that they put u thru all that crap !! Did u at least get a refund ??

Origins foundation ... blends well into the skin, doesn't look cakey and matches my skin perfectly. It looks quite natural.

hehe the lancome little gift packs are awesome...one time i bought a masque for the hell of it...just so i could get the gift....cant resist them juicy tubes :D

Hey what was the foundation that you love and they dont make anymore?? Bare essentials, bare minerals.. im not sure of the name, but i saw an ad on the tv for it too, but i didnt c anythin similar to that name on the macy’s or sephora website.
Pink’d I got this awesome lip gloss from lancome, the juicy tubes… its starwberry something and its the perfect shade, and when i went to get a new one, they dont make it anymore
