Hey apple blossom, well I just just the MSF natural in dark to give colour and definition to my cheeks and it makes them look reallllly smooth with buffed on with the 187. So I like it a lot for that.
Originally, I also bought MSF natural in medium to try as a quick foundation or setting powder... personally I did not like it for either. I have oily skin and as a foundation it just didn't do anything for me. I usually set my foundation with MAC select sheer pressed powder and it mattifies my foundation (as full coverage isn't dry looking) and evens everything out. Using MSF natural instead and I stayed looking too shiny and just didn't have that 'finished' look I get with select sheer.

thanks stopps, for how long does it keep ur skin shine free? and which foundation u use? can u recommend any for oily skin?
The pressed powder.. it depends how much I use and the weather but usually I stay looking okay for half a day (will be slightly shiny but I don’t look oily). I used to use MAC blot powder before until a seasoned makeup artist recommended me select sheer and I think it’s much better.
My skin can get extremely oily and I’ve stopped fighting it. If I feel the need, I just blot and dust powder again. But you know most days I’m wearing makeup from the time I get ready until before I go to bed and I don’t do anything to touch it up (i.e. blot). I come home from work and although I’m a bit shiny, all my makeup is in place and still looking good… it literally takes me 1 min to freshen it up if I’m going out again.
I did my own wedding makeup with all the above products and even sitting for hours under the the bright lamps they use in Pak for lighting the stage… I didn’t get shiny or need to touch up my makeup. But that time obviously, I was using a lot of makeup.
I imagine the T.V paint stick is not that different from MAC Full coverage. The bridal makeup artist I sometimes take photos for uses Kryolan (I'm sure it's the stick) and it seems quite similar... just very thick. The only issue is that you have is that really, you need to mix shades to get the right match.
In fact, the person who recommend me MAC full coverage for my wedding did so because she said it was the only product I could get easily (i.e. not really professional, doesn't need mixing shades so I could find a good colour match) that would hold up with my oily skin.
The problem I would have with Studio Fix Fluid (which I used previously) is although it's a matte looking foundation when you apply it, it doesn't 'hide' the shine very well. In photographs I would get 'hot spots' where the shiny parts of my face looked really shiny and reflected the flash. Full coverage + select sheer doesn't do this, so mostly, I actually look less shiny in photographs than I am in real life.
And yup.. I'm NC30 in foundation. But I use NC20 or NC25 in select sheer on the recommendation of that MUA as she said it tends to oxidise... which I think is true.
Does MAC full coverage oxidize aswelll???? I hated Studio Fix so im not sure about full coverage but when i got my bridal makeup at NEWLOOK in Gulberg they used a cream compact from MAC I suspect either it was a Studio Tech compact or MAC full coverage and she used NC35 on me and it looked nice like i did look lighter than my actual colour but not white and she said i should be using NC35 rather than NC42....Sorry kinda went off the topic but I need to know would this full coverage one would be suitable for dry skin?? and does it have the same ingridients as studio fix as i really disliked studio fix made me cakey and patchy...I have seen GossMakeupartist on Youtube recommending Mac Full coverage...Where can I get it in London?
Full coverage is completely different from Studio Fix and doesn't oxidise.
Whether oily or dry skin, you do need to moisturise really well before using FC because it doesn't go well over dry ares but that done, it doesn't look cakey or patchy if applied correctly (see one of my previous posts for how I apply it).
In London you can only get it from the Pro store on Fouberts place, Carnaby Street area (behind Oxford Circus station). If you tell them your issues and that you were recommended to try FC, you should be able to get a sample from them if you ask. I got a sample of a few foundations when I told them it was for my wedding.
Oh I see! Thanks I will def check out them once im in the UK Inshallah...I feel that the Full coverage is somehow similar to Sculpt foundation isnt it?
I can't say enough about MUFE's HD foundation. I have acne-probe skin with scars. This foundation covers them up beautifully. I wear it everyday, mostly on my trouble areas and I swear to you, my co-workers think I don't wear any cover-up.
What I really like about this is that it doesn't clog pores or look cakey. I just finished my first bottle yesterday , after one year.
Have just ordered the MUFE HD so hopefully that will give the look I am after.. No-one seems to have a bad word to say about it..
Just came across a blog post about MAC Studio Tech and Full Coverage and realised that for the SAME price the latter gives nearly 3x more product so going to give that a try as well.. Am happy with Studio Tech as a normal daytime foundation but I do seem to get thru it quite quickly..
