foundation application: brush, sponge or fingers!

Which do you think makes for the most flawless foundation application, using a brush or sponge or fingertips? I have always used my fingertips because fingers are easiest to wash and clean! Sponge seems to absorb too much foundation into itself. Ive been wondering if I should switch to a brush..?

Which do you prefer?

Foundation Brush...

Re: foundation application: brush, sponge or fingers!

^^ which one?

Re: foundation application: brush, sponge or fingers!

Foundation brush. Although I have read somewhere that during it with the fingers gives the best coverage. Never tried though

Fingers most definately! The warmth allows foundation to absorb into the skin.. blends really well.. and u can get into small area's like around the nose and corners of the eyes.

Sponges absorb too much foundation.. and foundation brushes are more suitable for pancake/paint sticks.

on the rare occasion that i wear ifoundation, i mix a bit of it with moisturizer in the palm of my hand with a finger, then i dab it all over my face and rub it in circle until well blended. the moisturizer keeps it from looking cakey and it goes on super smooth. no sponge needed!

I agree

I use a foundation brush to apply my foundation then use a round blusher brush to blend it in using a swirling motion giving a flawless look.

another good tool to use is the BEAUTY BLENDER which you wet and squeeze making it fluffy. this presses the makeup in to your skin and blends it beautifully. put the foundation on the back of your hand as you have heat in your hand when you press the foundation into your hand with the sponge you are warming it up and breaking it up before it goes directly on to the skin. set your foundation with loose powder using a puff dab the puff on to your hand so that you don't get a blob of powder on your face.

Fingers definitely.

i use fingers and so far they work well
i am a bit intimitaded to use brushes to apply foundation..i dunno...maybe its the idea of 'painting my face'..if that makes any sense

cheekygirl...where can you get the Beauty Blender from?
nd for the pros who use brushes..which ones do u girls use and how? plus what do you think would be easy to use for a beginner?

Hi PakiPari

if you log into BEAUTYBLENDER.NET it tells u where u can buy the product from or u can order online from them.

MAC do the best brushes.

Finger.. (sometimes sponge/brush.. depends on which foundation I use..)

…I feel foundation brushes give a smooth and flawless finish, just blend well to ensure there are no streaks and use short and deft movements with the brush from the nose out towards the cheekbones.

Some very good foundation brushes that I would recommend are those by MAC and Benefit…

take care,

I always heard you shouldn't use finger for blending foiundations on ur face because the hand has a lot of bacteria and it's not healthy for the skin. Or you could wash your hands really thoroughly before you use it i guess?

fingers..

I use a combination of fingers and foundation brush. I agree - the sponge soaks up too much foundation.

Generally, I always use a brush when using stick/creme foundation. I always blend with my fingers though, as the warmth from your fingers really break down the transition lines. Also, you generally have finer control with your fingers so you can dab or smooth as needed.

I do the same thing...but instead of moisturizer...I mix in my sunscreen.

Most of the time I use my fingers but the times Ive used a brush...Ive noticed the difference so I MIGHT go and buy a foundation brush now.
