I glimpsed at the title and it made me think of sponge fingers - those dry sponge biscuits that taste of vanilla and almonds, used in tiramisu and trifles... Nice if you dunk them in coffee, then they swell up to double the size, you have to bite them before the end breaks off and falls into the coffee...
I always heard you shouldn't use finger for blending foiundations on ur face because the hand has a lot of bacteria and it's not healthy for the skin. Or you could wash your hands really thoroughly before you use it i guess?
But obviously because you can wash your fingers, they would be the cleanest option. You can wash your brushes too, but I still think fingers are cleanest

Brushes and sponges can be difficult to wash properly whereas hands can be washed properly.
