Al-Qaeda is a loser but in the sub-continent there were no forced converstions. People converted cuz they wanted higher posts in the mughal government or they converted because of some sufi saint's advice.
The bit about converting to Islam was the idea of the Journalists themselves to land their release.
As for Al-Qeda calling for Europe to convert...it's simply their way of doing exactly what the West is doing to Muslims with regard to demands to 'reform' and what not (i.e. westernize). What is it they say about like minds?
Mixing up issues here, just like the journalist who wrote that article? I thought you would've be able to sift thru lies and politics.
What AlQaeda is doing, they are only trying to gain more 'popularity' as they have been under criticism by larger populations for being 'destructive', killing civilians etc, now they are adding this 'invite to Islam' slogan to calm down the criticism etc. Some people really can't look beyond some boundaries.
If my neighbor asks me to come to his Mosque, that is an invitation to Islam. When someone who has blown up Embassies, Buses, Trains, Planes, Night Clubs, and about a thousand Shia a month "Asks" you to join Islam, it is a not so thinly veiled threat.
Everyday you can see the a similar religious superiority here on Gupshup. This presumed superiority plays itself out in many ways. Al Qaedda is simply quilty of saying, "Islam is a superior way, so why do a Billion Muslims not have the world power they deserve?" And they are willing to resort to violence to prove this point.
Although I'd like to laugh at those pictures, Jesus has recently healed me from depression, and I must be good to him for it. He said to love your enemies. I feel bad for them, because they are enveloped in hate, and most of them never knew the true meaning of love. :(

You know OG, superiority is a misunderstood concept under this particular case. When you are superior you want to maintain that superiority not share it or call others to it otherwise you will loose you edge.
Now as for forced conversion, truly despicable. Invitation to Islam, nothing wrong with it.
^ Luckily there is no need for you to be forced since you already enjoy the fruits and freedoms of a democratic country. This country doesn't allow the draconian sharia laws that some support. Lucky you.
I'm sure they would be much happier living under a brutal dictator (that other Muslims didn't seem to have a problem with for 20 years). Ask an Iraqi shia.
But it's ok. Keep enjoying everything this evil country has to offer. The benefits of living under this system are outta sight, I'm sure you'll agree. I'm sure you won't be judged by the hypocrisy. Now or when it really matters.
islam seeks to be hijacked by thse stupid al-queda and some radicals mullahs.
I guess muslim world needs a leader who can oppose the action by these stupid mullahs and terrorists and he should have mass support which i really doubt he will get.
Why can’t there be a benevolent muslim leader that can garner mass support? Are they too many factions? Does the lack of a hierarchy within Islam prevent a respectable leader that masses can support?
