for those, who have watched BOL

I have seen the Movie, its undoubtedly based on a good subject and a very good movie too.. but still dont any of you feel, a couple of Umaima Malik’s dialogues were not good.. I am saying in a religious way!!

secondly.. no doubt, one can’t judge a person with how much he offer prayers.. or recite Quran.. because there ARE people who carry dual personalities.. but WHY Shoaib Mansoor hits the Maulvis, Maulanas and Imam-e-Masijd specially!??
what do you say? :hmmm:

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

It was a very disturbing movie!

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

not answered my questions?? :konfused:

well, I liked the movie.. it was a unique topic undoubtedly.. but… my questions remain the same!

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

pata nae m ne nae suna k wo mashoor hai molvi but movie dekhi hai han i agree k us k kuch bol achy nae but movie bohat achi hai ..!!!

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

I think Shoaib Mansoor is either a closet atheist or he just has a strong hatred for the mullahs, and i don't blame him the molvies have led our society towards the dark ages instead of enlightening us. The forceful ways which Mansoor has portrayed in his movies are no where found in Quran then i don't understand why there is the use for for and oppression? Mansoor has done a good job but i don't think he's not bashing religion here he's bashing the people's dogmas and beliefs. He no where criticizes Islam or the Quran but rather the way people practice the religion, he's trying to show the "Pakistani Islam" which we follow and how its erroneous. I think he's done a great job we need to reform these mullahs they're really projecting some strict orthodox religion which Islam is not all about.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

I didn't like Bol at all. It was too depressing for me. He tried to bring all the cliches and issues of the Pakistani society in a very haphazard and abrupt way. It just didn't leave an impact at all for me

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

I am not talking about the issues/ people's perception.. I am just talking about the dialogues!!

lets write here a dialogue for example:

Umaima: Kaash main Khuda hoti.. to............karti!

she could have said: kaash Khuda aisa karta k..........
^this would have been much better!!
rest, I really liked the movie!

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

Yes these dialogues were not appropriate, but the situation Umaima's character was facing could make ppl say anything which is not acceptable normally. Shoaib Mansoor did a good job for highlighting issues but at the end fail to bring a realistic solution or any hint for that. Don't you think that the end shown in the movie was a bit unrealistic i.e. successful business set up in few years by women who were always suppressed.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

The purpose of such dialogs in movies is to make the movie controversial and that leads to more popularity. This is the only way left for these people to force Pakistanis to watch local movies.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

If this is true then they should have shown such scenes and dialogues in promos, which is not the case IMO.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

yeah... that sounded unrealistic.. or atleast.. he should have shown them OLD.. they were still young! BUT, the end of Umaima was right! agar usay bacha lete to story bachho wali lagti.. it happens!!

we never want to hear such stupid dialogues, c`mon! they should always remember, we belong to Islamic Republic!!

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

I keep hearing it's really depressing so I don't want to watch it. Interesting reviews though.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

Khuda k Liye was much MUCH better than BOL. Like someone said above, he tried to encompass to many issues in one movie which made it a) complex b) depressing and c) random.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

Islamic Republic? :hehe: Konsay Islamic kaam ho rahay hain iss Islamic Republic mein?

I think there should be more movies like these, to break down the ignorance regarding Islam. Mullahs like shown in the movie have completely distorted the religion for the people who follow them and do things in their lives which have nothing to do with Islam. It’s a good thing we’re shown a mirror to look at.. the only thing left for us is to open our eyes to it and THINK for a second.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

it made me cry.And like there wasnt just one twist in the movie, there were so many of them infact the whole movie was tragic.Thats what people become when you impose religion without letting them have an understanding of it.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

i absolutly agree wid u…dialogues were inappropriate..i dnt kno why he does that…
.i didnt like the movie al tall…i wish it waz not about this topic…

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

to kiya Islam ko bura bna ke hi “ignorance regarding Islam” ko break down kiya jaskta hay?? NO.. I don’t think so.. ye to wo baat ho gayi ke koi aap p tawajjo nahin de raha to bajaye achha bannay ke aap ***** ho jao.. takay log aapko dekhen!!
secondly, maira objection sirf DIALOGUES p hay, wo bhi aik do.. movie mujhay khud bhi achhi lagi hay.. i am just discussing here what I observed! thats it!!

:k:
but, to me, it was a good movie~

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

I guess this isn’t the full plot?

Zainub’s father’s wish for a son ends up with 5 daughters and a pseudohermaphrodite, who they name Saifi. Hakim (Manzar Sehbai), her father, a herbal medicine doctor, wants to kill the child but is stopped by his wife. Saifi, disliked by his father, is home-schooled and becomes very skilled at sketching.
Zainub is hastily married off as soon as she is of age but eventually divorces her husband and returns home, where her mother still keeps getting pregnant given Hakim’s desire for a son. Zainub has tubal ligation done on her mother in the absence of her father to prevent future pregnancies. Hakim, on finding out about the surgery becomes violent.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

This might be true.

I gather SM's movies are targeted at burger families....I don't think a mazdoor or riksha-driver would be interested in those type of movies? They have real crap going on in their lives so I don't think they'd bother watching it.

Re: for those, who have watched BOL

we have alreaady watched the movie!! ye sab batanay ka matlab? :konfused:
