45 K is around 3.75K/ month.
That’s not unreasonable if you factor in the rent/bills/food/medical costs. These aren’t luxuries we are talking about, these are necessities and the guy should be able to provide. If he can’t for some reason, both of them would have to work. He can’t really expect for them to live on like that if he can’t provide that much especially if they’re living in the West, where everything is so $$$
