In the US, 30K wouldn’t be remotely sufficient at all for the life style we are accustomed to, not even close, pretty much every state…

I beg to differ, I know people including myself who have lived on less than 30K..its enough for a single person or a couple with no kids, but it’s still a good starting point.

I guess I am the bad guy for pointing out you need to offer something to get something in return. Every person has different demands, I’m guessing income and attractiveness are the variable components for most people. It is a trade off for the parties involved, they don’t call it the marriage market for nothing. Are all desi women so painfully naive?
