Well, in that case, income shouldn’t be on the list of things you want. Men bring income to the table, women bring their looks. Those are the terms of the trade. To pretend other wise is naively idealistic.

Depends entirely on your lifestyle. $15k a year will let you survive anywhere in the US (rent, food, insurance). Anything above that isn’t really a “cost of living”. It’s a cost of living large.

Half of the US earns under $30k a year. So half of the wealthiest country in the world lives a lifestyle that isn’t “remotely sufficient at all” be your standards.

Wow. What genius calculations. And yet so many of us are happily married. So what’s the deal with that? Perhaps the logic you have employed is remarkably flawed and painfully idiotic?

I guess I am the bad guy for pointing out you need to offer something to get something in return. Every person has different demands, I’m guessing income and attractiveness are the variable components for most people. It is a trade off for the parties involved, they don’t call it the marriage market for nothing. Are all desi women so painfully naive?
