I just had an interview with a HeadHunters agent. Im changing my job and Headhunters agents help you find a new job. Anyways so this guy was really goofy on the phone and very friendly. He told me to dress casual and wear Flip fliops if I want to. He’s said “Wear flipflops but you better have a pedicure”. It just so happens I am wearing Sandals and I have a pedicure today.
I met him and we were discussing the position when suddenly he asked if I came with a pedicure. Then he proceeds to pick up my leg and took my sandals off! Then he started checking out my pedicure and complimenting me on it. Then he massaged the ball of my foot asking if I ever got Accupuncture. I was dumbfounded. I thought he would put my foot down after checking out the pedicure but he MASSAGED it! I mean is this weird or what? I let it go because I thought he’s dumb and goofy like that. Then before I was about to leave he did it AGAIN!
Then he uses words like “Oh dont worry I will carry you through the whole Job Search Process In my arms” (metaphorically speaking ofcourse but WEIRD!) and then he sent me an email yet again saying we will breeze through this process with each other.
He has REALLY awesome job prospects for me but the Foot part in the meeting was downright weird. I dont know what to make of his behavior. He is really friendly and a goofy guy so I am wondering If this is part of his personality. Do you think he has a foot fetish? Because he sent me another email asking me to wear flip flops for our meeting tomorrow.

I would try getting help from a different agent if i were you. even if he has a foot fetish, this is a work environment and his behaviour is inappropriate and freaky.

The Position is in Financial Services with a Money management firm. However, the guy does not work for that firm, he is an agent that helps link people with firms.

Not worth the job, I know you may have been in shock but since he got to touch you whats to say he won't help himself again.
Don't make excuses for him, there are other ways to be goofy you know.

I dont want this to proceed into something more weird. I will go to the appointment tomorrow and If he does the same thing I will make it a point to tell him Its disturbing. Then If it doesnt stop I will look for another agent.

OMG................i can't believe ppl are so unprofessional these days. He sounds mentally retarded to me. Who in their right mind would ask you to wear flip-flops and make sure you have a pedicure. No one goes in such details. I can see just saying "dress casually" but that is about it. I mean it is not like the position was for modeling your feet or anything. I would think twice before meeting him again!

since you are planning on meeting him again.... i recommend not wearing sandals or anything like that. He is no one to tell you what to wear. He should be focusing on your resume and your skills not your feet.

Mahru: Good Idea indeed! Actually in his last email to me he emphasized that I wear Flipflops so I am thinking there definitely is something wrong here. Agents are sweeter than company interviewers but they are not THIS informal. Plus his hands kept shaking when he handed me the job description printouts.
