Food sticking to the dish

Re: Food sticking to the dish

let it soak overnight…dont use anything abrasive it ruins the non-stick coating.

Re: Food sticking to the dish

^ oh, I was assuming Sara doesn’t have a non-stick set :konfused:, hence the steel :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Food sticking to the dish

These are old dishes, i have no clue what htey are...

Re: Food sticking to the dish

be on the safe side…just let em soak overnight.

actually i assumed the same til she asked “how do u clean THESE things” lol

Re: Food sticking to the dish

*Mrs Saieen u shud try to use butter/makhan instead of oil, then it wont stick that much.

Hope it helps,

Shukriya.*

Re: Food sticking to the dish

dawn power dissolver works well for non stick cookware.
i use it for my non stick frying pans/karahi etc...because after repeated fryings they need a good clean as the oil kinda gets stuck to them(especailly the edges).Just spray some onto the greasy stuff and leave it for awhile and then wash them with the usual dish soap and sponge....

Re: Food sticking to the dish

Lol why? i dont get it?

Since my thread is already opened..how do u propaly defrost chicken or something? Today i just dunked it in a bowl of hot water, wihtout the plastic wrap til i read something else online.. well.. =//

Re: Food sticking to the dish

You don't defrost in hot water. Always in regular cold tap water for almost 30-40 mins. Change the water after like 20 mins and try to part the meat with hands....

Re: Food sticking to the dish

What’s wrong with hot water?
And how else do ppl part meat? :konfused: And do i need to keep it covered in the plastic wrap (wshen i have it in the water) or take it off?

Re: Food sticking to the dish

^ there was a reason why you DONT put it in hot water, lekin i cant remember it right now. and yes, take the plastic off. and to pull apart, use your hands or a butter knife maybe

Re: Food sticking to the dish

I remember on tv, they said hot water helps the bacteria grow on raw meat and makes it unhealthy, which is true.
You want to make sure that some water is able to touch the meat. Maybe make a hole with a knife or something. If it is just one piece then you don't part them but if more then one piece is clumped, then you want to try seperating them as they defrost.

Re: Food sticking to the dish

oh... wel i feel fine right now... :(

Re: Food sticking to the dish

Food sticks to cold pans, make sure you heat the pan up really well before you add anything in it.

Re: Food sticking to the dish

You do realize that the chicken already starts to cook in hot water and loses all its taste and nutrients once you throw that water out.

Best way to defrost is decide what you wanto cook and take it out in the morning before leaving home, by the time you are back its defrosted.

Or buy that weird board that defrosts meat in minutes.

Re: Food sticking to the dish

^^ if you do that then make sure it is in the fridge and not outside. You don't want to keep the raw meat outside for long time. My does that but she leaves the meat in the fridge for this long time.

Re: Food sticking to the dish

Yeah Lusi but also depends where you are living.

Here its always cold so the meat takes longer to defrost, i'd take it out before leaving the house in the morning and when I come back around 1 or 2, its still frozen.

These days Im just buying fresh meat and cooking it straight and it helps that the Gosht wala is just around the corner :D

Re: Food sticking to the dish

what do you 'dum' the rice for? i mean whats the purpose? i always make biryani but i never use tawa or anything.. should i?

Re: Food sticking to the dish

^ its when the rice is almost cooked, but u need the steam present and the low heat to cook the rice to perfection... I use a tawa bcoz that way, the heat doesn't directly come into contact with the rice, and so it sticks less to the bottom of the pot.

but if you make it w/o tawa then good on you... i just need it bcoz my "andaaza" is set with that :)

Re: Food sticking to the dish

thanks :)

Re: Food sticking to the dish

to ‘dumm’ the rice, u can use soaked peice of cloth too instead of using tawa… just cover the top of the pot with it and leave the rice on very low heat

:rotfl:… how? 'cause he sees you everyday? …
just kidding:cb:
