Mine is the all mighty, the king of vegatables…Karelaay. Itnay kadway or abbu zabardasti khaltay hein.
Then comes Bataoen (not as in urdu bataoon transaltion “tell”) aik tu yeh bataaon jo hein naa, that “oeon” at the end sounds so bad then imagine how bad it tastes.
Phir number hai Kali Mash Ki Daal ka that in Punjabi translates Kaley Maun De Daal and my brother calls it Kali Mata Ki Daal. Yaar yeh kali daal kion bani hai, I don’t why. Or aik woh peelay color ki daal hai, i don’t know the name but it’s yellow.
Oh yeah how can I forget Baingan. Azal say meri dushmani hai in baingno say or in Baingano ka bahi Kaduu. Naam dekhoo zara, Kaduu, naam hi itna kharaab hai tu zaiqa kaisa ho ga and of course Kairelaa tu inka baap hai.
Everytime one of these gets cooked, I fight with my mother. And I know it’s not nice to dislike and disrespect food laken kiya karein…adat say majboor hein.
I also dislike karelay very much halak se neechay utaarna namumkan hae
us ke ilawa mujhay ARVI [woh jo aaloo kee terhaan dikhti hay par slimy see hoti hae thori] woh bhee naheen psand woh aur TEENDE/ SHALJAM dono hi nahen psand lekin majboori ho toh khaa sakti hoon…
Maash kee daal aur baingan dono mujhay psand haen Kaddu bhee meri ammi bohot mazay ke pakati haen
aur maghaz aur phepre kaleji waghera mein pehle kha lya kerti thee bachpan mein lekin ab soch k hi dil kharab hota hae…
To like Karelays, you have to eat it from someone who actually "knows" how to make them. They take the whole karwahat out of these and they can be so yummy. Trust me! :)
na hi poocho tu acha hai, janna tumahray haq mein nehi. anways it’s a vegetable that’s of purple color. it looks exactly like this just paint it purple and the leaves green.
Faisel kisi king bawarchi say bhi kareilay pakwa lo but I’d still refuse to eat.
Bataon and baigon is generally the same thing. Its called egg-plant here in the US. The reason I didn't point it out earlier was because Shani mentioned both of them separately, and it seemed as if they are two different things. I am not sure, if in some areas they do refer to different vegetables or what.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww i actually puked after i read that :yukh: :yukh: :yukh:
omg, help me I can’t stop laughing. Kali mata ki daal baingano ka bahi kadu or unka baap kairala god ur too
bhindi I don’t like much but will eat if I have to. Ghosht pe jo tajerbay hotey hein like balti ghosht or chicken kadhi etc I don’t like either. And kareilaay:rocket:

exactly...
my mom's karelas...dont have any karwahat in them. And the karele gosht she makes are awesome...
Cooking Karailay is the ULTIMATE test for an Iron Pakistani Chef. This is the Post Doctorate degree for any cook. Like Faisal said, if cooked properly, there ain't anything like it with a tall glass of Lussi.
I love all the vegetables, and I mean ALL. I also love Maa dee daal.
My favorite vegetable is Baingun. It can be cooked in so many different ways.
Toree is a funny sabzi. You eat it, and if its old and stale you use it in the bathroom to wash your body. Atleast thats how I have seen in a lot of households in Pakistan. Now thats real remarkable.
Ladyfinger/okra/bhindi… is it a vegetable or a fruit? I have heard conflicting reports. In either case, if cooked properly, its as tasty as anything. :k:
Well, what I have been told, its the real toori which is dried and then used for body scrubbing ... sookhi toori. Even the shape looked remarkably similar. Wallah O Aalim.
