Re: food & culture

@Ninja
Yeah I have. They have those dumpling type things all the time in their house. Some of them have pork stuffing, others have Beef. Chinese are REALLY fond of Pork. They eat even intestines and stuff. You can go to some places and get steamed dumplings called Dim Sum, those are pretty good.

@Muqa
Chinese eat so many different things, that to us Desis, are so weird. Like I said, they eat Intestines, Squid, Octopus, Rotten Eggs, Tripe, Bugs, Rats, Dogs hahahaha. A lot of it is tasty too, but some people are put off by the weirdness.

What is Pakistan’s cultural food?

Saag and Maki ki roti ?

Re: food & culture

Any fans of spicy food? In my experience, the spiciest food you get in South India or Thailand. Aside from that, you get these random mad scientist cooks here in the US, who mix all kind of chilies and hot sauces and peppers and create PURE fire hahahaha.

I think in my whole family, aside from my bhua ji, I eat the most Spicy food. Sometimes I make prawn curry that's so spicy, that just the smell makes people cough and tear up haha.

Re: food & culture

Palla machli is the fish that flow in opposite direction. normally fish flows from river to sea, but Palla flows from sea to river. Due to shortage of water in river, palla is getting extinct. Palla is most delicious (trout like taste), but it contains so many kantas. Palla is mentioned in Sindhi folk songs and some historians believe that Alexandra ate palla excessively and could not bear the heat that finally lead to his death.

As far as Pakistan’s culture food is concerned, it varies from area to area. Gane ka rus is considered as official Pakistani drink, but that should have been Lassi till last decade and now its obviously tea. :hehe:

Re: food & culture

kobe beef is also very famous...

though its not a dish but raw beef available for different dishes....

Re: food & culture

Mexican chiken as served in Nando's restaurant is tasty but extremely spicy

Re: food & culture

palla machhi sounds like salmon fish..wo bhi opposite direction me tairati hai

Re: food & culture

ninja aaj aap ke haan daal chawal to nahin bane, jo aisi items ke naam lekar bhook baRha rahe ho apni :hehe:

Re: food & culture

You know Nandos?! Every time I visit my Bhua ji in UK we go to Nandos. I always find the Chicken more flavorful than spicy hahahaha. This one time here in US, I went to this thai restaurant that was so dirty and ghetto looking, and the chef wasn't wearing a shirt. He spoke no english and he made the single most spicy food I ever had in my life. I took ONE bite and couldn't eat any more, had to go get some ice cream right away. Paid $20 for a plate of food I couldn't eat hahaha. I never had food that Spicy since.

Re: food & culture

Re: food & culture

Re: food & culture

Butter chicken=delhi

Re: food & culture

I think that is what Chinese people do ,they mix all the ingredients and cook them together, haha.

Ah, i got it today. I thought may be it is cooked in a special way that’s why it is called Palla machli. Can you post the picture now? LOL

Is it true about Salmon? Never knew.
PS i love salmon fish , I eat twice a week, give me everyday, i 'll never mind. :hehe: It is quite expensive and even expensive than COD fish.

One thing I have noticed about Nando’s is their hot sauces, it is not all about their way of cooking , it is about the sauce when you feel the smoke in you ear. :hehe:

Re: food & culture

I think it comes from Punjabi culture.
