I think FOBs is the wrong word to use for whatever cause we use it for. having had many discussions with various people who use this word…they tell me that FOBs =doesnt necessarily have to be an immigrant.
an immigrant can be some1 who is not classified as a FOB
and person born and brought up in UK/America can SOMETIMES be considered a FOB.
so in that case, a FOB (fresh of the boat) is not the right word to use cuz not all “FOBs” are fresh of the boat…
what other word can we use to describe the kind of people you are referring to? cuz I think FOB is a very offensive word for a person who doesnt behave in that way…but is not born/brought up in the west.

i dont think FOB is an offensive word at all or ABCD for that matter. they both define personality traits largely associated with each. and honestly too much of either one could be equally annoying in a person. i found very few desies who are in the middle. our very own frontier_charm is a perfect blend though.
also, you can act like a total abcd and have never lived outside your 'defense' house in lahore. im sure we have all met some of those. and also some western born and raised who carry themselves like they were shipped from mirpur yesterday.
I prefer FOB Its not like I ran away from Pakistan seeking shelter that I should be called a refugee. I came here by choice, liked it and decided to stay and so far God has been kind and I am still likin 'n livin here! Alhamdolillah.
