Impulse FOB isn;t really a bad insulting word so do not take offense. All fobs are fresh off the boat and for someone who has come from say UK to the USA well they are fresh off their second boat 
If u have some really bad stereotypes associated with the term FOB then u should probably rid urself of them since most of us freshies are quite okay being called FOBS even though some of us have come to the US or UK after having lived in another country for years. It looks like what u take FOB to be is paindoo or something in which case u should probably sort the two out.

I guess the term is just used to describle new immigrants...so "fresh off the boat" really means wot is says, but i think it's the stereotypes attached to this term that makes it offensive...just as some ppl r offended when named a "bbcd" or "abcd", which in my opinion r slightly more offending just bcos of the word "confused"...ah well, they r all just stupid labels...don't take them too seriously Impulse...it's not like when ur in the UK and some white person calls u "Paki", now that's offensive...ppl from the same culture/origin shud stop calling each other these silly names, but i doubt that will ever happen...and most of us use them from time to time, i think it's the way u use the terms that we need to be careful with.

Hoenstly i never had a problem wit the term ABCD til I started visiting GS.. and now, i hate when someoen calls me an ABCD coz of the attached “reputatioN” with it..
