^ People are rejected in rishtas, job interviews, you name it, for a crap load of reasons. It's part of life, an unpleasant one I admit, but we face it all the time.
People with thick desi accents are made fun of. Girls with bimbo, ditzy, valley-girl accents are made fun of. Arnold Schwarzeneger, the Terminator, is teased about his strong Austrian accent. Even western born and raised desis are made fun of for their Americanized urdu. I'm not saying it's right. But it all boils down to personal preference.
People shouldn't act like snobs. they need to be humble. if other person is good just an accent makes no sense. marriage proposals cannot be compared with job interviews.
