Hello
So, how many of you exercise? What type of exercise do you do? How has it changed your life? Has it made any difference on your actual physical appearance and mental health?

i do nothing but walk a lot .....but well i'm the one who can have five servings of a meal at one time but never reach hundred lbs.
when i don't walk that much i feel lazy n sleepy ....but a brisk walk in fresh air makes me really active .....i can walk for 3 km at a time ....n 6 km if i take some rest in between :)
I excercise often, about 3 or 4 times a week. I work on toning and cardio mostly. It's become part of my life now, and I cannot do without it. Before I started working out years ago, I had many aches and pains in my body. Working out has causes those aches and pains to end, and allowed me to become much more flexible. My physical appearance has also changed drastically for the better, and that is always a good source of motivation.
Fret, stop acting like a twat. Tell us, was the drastic improvement for the better meant that you can barely see your toes now?
I started working out about 2 months ago.
Uptill now I only had time for twice a week, I swim once in 2 weeks and the rest of the time is cardio and grouplessons.
It’s a part of my weekly routine now, and hopefully as of next week I’ll go thrice a week as I’ll be having holidays. It definitely makes u feel better, like Fret said no more aches and stuff.
As for phyisical change… hmmm not so sure bout that. I guess that’ll come when I start working out more consistently and have a programme to stick with. Right now it’s like I do whatever I feel like without really knowing what I’m doing but as of next week I’ll stick to a workout programme and maybe that’s when u’ll see the difference.
If ur thinking of joining a gym then I’d say go for it :k: it’s done me nothing but good.
well i started when i was 15 and i lifted too many weghts and now i have joint problems :p i havent done anythign for almost 1.5 to 2 years
Well, exercising ain't my cup of tea. I get tired very soon. And moreover, if I start exercising I start putting on weight instead.
The thing is, if I somehow burn like a couple of hundred calories in a session, I feel very weak and thus get hungry. I end up eating double of what I normally( when I don't exercise) do, eventually the net intake of calories is much higher compared to a normal day.
This is my experience. I know exercise is essential and quite helpful when it comes to weight loss( and other health matters), but it never works for me. :)
I work out at home and I mostly do sit-ups, push-ups, some other abdominal excercises but all that doesn't really affect my weight because it has always been between 105-111 lbs for an unknown reason...I do work out because it makes me active and feel strong.:)
I did hard core Cardoe workout last year, and got very good reslut. lost 38 lbs in 10 weeks, now i only do some weight training 3 times a week.

If I let my nails grow, I might be able to see them.

Its your cycle that effects the weight each month thats why I said its because of the water and for your height its ok weigh that much.
my workout routine:
Monday - Chest; Abs; 45 Min Cardio
Tuesday - Legs; 45 Min Cardio; Abs
Wednesday - Off
Thursday - Back, Traps and Shoulders; 45 Min Cardio
Friday - Arms; Abs; 45 Min Cardio
Saturday/Sunday - Off
i do intense crunch exercises which involves proper breathing and pressuring, i usually increase the weight i am carrying.
More than anything I find going to the gym after work is a great way to relieve stress. Working out changed my eating habits too. The more I worked out ( I started in HS) I stopped eating junk food and drinking soda. Oh yea, it builds self-confidence when approaching the opposite sex ;)
So has anyone tried out mat pilates?
this is how my workout week looks like approximately:
monday- walk -->45 minutes
tuesday- crunch work out---> 20 minutes
wednesday- walk --> 45 minutes
thursday- racquet ball--> 20 minutes
friday- yoga---> 30 minutes
saturday- relaxing day :-)
sunday- pilates--> 30 minutes
Mehnaz, yes i do mat pilates workout with a dvd..its fun :)
Mehnaz, I exercise pretty regularly. I jog, do crunches and aerobics. My body now looks awesome as opposed to just a few months back when I was still working on shedding the last of the unnecessary 4 lbs. My body does this though...in the summer time, it tones down bigtime but puts on a tad bit of weight towards winter which is a little bit more difficult to shed. Exercise and eating properly without necessarily depriving yourself of your favorite fatty foods is the key here to remaining healthy, fit, and energetic.
:)

I have tried pilates and find it slightly boring but the results are good if you stick with it.
