Re: First Roza?
we started today.
There was no unity in local mosques either. Called few mosques and some said Sat and some said SUnday
Re: First Roza?
but who said there is any doubt?
some are saying yes they have sighted the moon…others are saying no they havent. Therefore the ones that have seen it will fast of course! besides dont you only need 2 witnesses to sight to moon to accept it? if yes…then it should be accepted.
Re: First Roza?
I'm not talking about those in the Middle East. They have sighted the moon. I'm referring to ISNA and the like who solely based it on astronomical calculations.
Re: First Roza?
but it was sighted in certain places in the usa as well....i posted a link in general.
Re: First Roza?

Re: First Roza?
Just thought I’d share this..
Al-Bukhaari (1914) and Muslim (1082) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:** “Do not anticipate Ramadaan by fasting one or two days before it begins, but if a man habitually fasts, then let him fast.”**
Abu Dawood (3237), al-Tirmidhi (738) and Ibn Maajah (1651) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When Sha’baan is half over, do not fast.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 590.
Al-Nawawi (RA) said:
The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “Do not anticipate Ramadaan by fasting one or two days before it begins, but if a man habitually fasts, then let him fast,” clearly indicate that it is not allowed to anticipate Ramadaan by fasting one or two days before it begins, for those who do not have a habitual pattern of fasting or who are not continuing to fast after starting to fast before (in the first half of Sha’baan). **If one is not continuing to fast or does not have a regular pattern of fasting, then it is haraam.

Re: First Roza?
Actually London is split amongst those that followed the Regents Park Mosque (who in turn followed the Saudis) and those that made their decision based upon the moonisghting in the UK or the closest Muslim country to the UK (i.e. Morrocco).
The only “Pakistani” Mosque that I am aware of that has started fasting on Saturday is the Minhaj Ul Quran Centre. All the others have started on Sunday.
