Re: First Roza?

The first or Ramadan always falls on the day when 4th of Rajab falls in the same year. So the 4th of Rajab was on Monday in Pakistan this year, therefore the first of Ramadan will be on Monday.

Similarly first of Shawal (Eid day) always falls on when 4th of Shaban falls in the same year! Pakistan 4th shaban was on tuesday so eid day will be on tuesday

Re: First Roza?

It's not the confusion, it's the difference of opinion.

It will most likely be this Saturday, to conclude contact your local Masajid.
Anyways, let's see what we see on Friday. Friday will be beautiful like always :D

Re: First Roza?

www.isna.net

to avoid any confusion and so people like me know in advance when to ask from work, ISNA and the Fiqh Council have finally decided to follow a clear way on deciding when is Ramadan and Eid. Now I can ask off from work on Eid and not go well I don’t know when Eid will be?? Thank you God for some sane people still living in this world!!

Re: First Roza?

It's supposed to be based on lunar sighting. I fail to comprehend how a certain day could be pre-selected just so that it doesn't look bad to others. Unless it could be established that the day picked is really the first day of Eid/Ramadan.

Re: First Roza?

This is against the Sunnah and command of the Prophet:saw: There is even a tradition related to the era of Caliphate which states that shahadah of moonsighting becomes invalid after a certain distance…

This pre-determination is also causing rift in the community, much much opposing to the biggest reason given in the favor of this decision.

Taking help from astronomical science is the need of today but putting back and discarding the way of the Prophet:saw: is a formula of self destruction to say the least.

I do not agree with the decision and I hope that actual moon is sighted on the calculated date so that for once, we have a common starting month.

Re: First Roza?

yeah and Azaan was never spoken into loudspeaker or ablutions done with clean and abundant tap water, or prayers offered in air conditions mosques so what's your point?

Re: First Roza?

My point is that Astronomical calculations should be used as a tool and not for the final decision. Science can be used but commands must over rule them. Simple.
