in pakistan,those sanitary* napkin* ads are helping boys to know about this thing..i just hate it when we all are watching tv included boys/men and suddenly ALWAYS sanitary napkin commercial is ruuning on your tv.

I knew what it was because only previously had we been given the sex ed lesson. Anyways, went home found it in me to tell my mum and she explained everything to me awkward moment right here! so yeah, I told her to not mention this conversation ever again sigh
OMG Our history/english teacher said the same thing…except she said it was 1000 times worse. And she had never had a baby at the time…so i guess her own teacher had told her the same thing a long time ago.

I was 13, in 8th grade and in my history class at the time it happened. I went to the restroom, flipped out and started crying and crying and crying. I had NO idea what it was - my parents had asked the school not to let us sit in Health class or through the reproductive chapters in Bio - I managed to get back into class, made it into science class when I got cramps like NEVER before. I go to the restroom again, cannot move anymore and finally make it back to science class. My teacher - Mr. Ford I will never forget him - is upset with me now and I try to explain that I have a problem and I couldnt move and Im sorry. I had no idea what it was but he understood, picked up my books and took me to the nurse's office. There, I told the nurse what happened and she let me call my dad...I didnt know what cramps were so he thought I had a regular stomach ache and brought me TUMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My nurse is standing there confused out of her mind thinking what kind of pendu people are these that cure period cramps with TUMS?
I get home, feel terrible, call my mom at work and cry all over again. I tell her Im really sick, I might die (overactive imagination?) and she needs to come home NOW! Mom asks me to explain what happened, I tell her, my nani overhears me and picks up the phone from upstairs laughing...
"Mubarak Hooo, bachi bari hogayi!"

mine was in july 04 and it just happened....we went town and when we came back i noticed sum spots on my trousers and i was wearing white....lol
erm...i knew what it was all about but didn't know how to apprroach mama...so i just went crying to her and told her that my salwar had sum blood on it and she smiled and said its ok...aisa hota hai larkio k sath...and i was gigling inside...dun ask why...!! anyways, she gave me a kotex pad and and and the rest is now history....lol
btw, i was 13 and half at the time...!! :) my sis's followed 2-3 months later and she is about 2 years younger...!!
i still cant figure out why guls have it at differrent ages....
oh and also....i used to hate my periods when i was a bit younger kuz i didnt knw how to handle the crap and mess but now i guess i have grown to handle the stress, pain and mood swings with it!!
and yh that labour pain in 1000 times worse is what our guest speaker also said....so i dun actually knw whats it is guna b like but i guess i have good 7-8 years to worry abt that...so am chilling for now...!! :)
i started mine at 12 , i knew all abt it because my sisters and cousins had them before us and they gave us a talk at school.
what i didnt know how crap the pain is , 10 years on and i still suffer the worst pain ever !!
when i was a little younger and didnt know there was a kotex advert where a girl would go to a disco and dance all nite and in the end it said somehting like keeps you dry / protected.
i thought that pads were for sweat ... hahahah if only

I was late, almost 15 !! and knew that it was coming so was not a suprise, was the last one in the class to get em.
