If the guy asked her out, then he should pay (tho most girls these days do at least offer).
If she asked him out, she should be at least willing to pay, tho he should offer to at least pay his share.

on the first date i think the guy should pay, expecting the girl to pay for her half is cheap... personally i would offer to pay though.

But the rule is, most women are natural born leeches. So:
- Offer to pay. Bring out wallet.
If girl says nothing, pay for it all - If girl offers to split the cost, insist on paying yourself.
If girl says nothing, pay for it all - If girl insists on paying, you must insist harder that you really want to and will pay this
If girl says nothing, pay for it all - If girl continues to insist on paying, you tell her that she can’t let you only pay half
If girl says nothing, go to pay for it all - If girl is adamant that she’ll pay, then you very reluctantly allow her to pay her share. But then you must bitch and gripe about it for the rest of the night and bring it up constantly until the first time she lets you pay for it all.

The closest I’ve personally had to this was going through the same set of instruction, just substituting “Girl” for “Guppies”
Most of my early guppy meets at Alladin’s or Oasis rapidly degenerated into arguments over who gets to pay.
It seems, however, that some principles are universal…

Well, the regular gang has a rota set up. Since we meet once every couple of months we rotate who pays for it all.

If she is a traditional woman, then lavish her with chivalry and gentlemanly conduct. Pull out the chair for her, open the door for her. Offer her your jacket if it is cold outside. And yes, pay for her every single time. Don't be cheap. If she says jump, you say "how high?" Never ever forget to open the door to the car for her. Treat her like a princess, dude.

If she is a foaming in the mouth feminist who thinks men and women are equal, then go dutch. Treat her as an absolute equal. If there is only one seat in the subway and you get to it first, then take it. Let her stand all the way. Don't offer your jacket to her even it is freezing. Remember, she is your equal. If she gives you a gift, then and only then do you giver her one too.
