When the burden on the government is so much that preventive tests like such are a lot cheaper than treating a patient, then yes, governments have to and must make it compulsory to have genetic screening before allowing marriages. Where countries are providing healthcare, such as UAE (free healthcare for locals) or UK (NHS) then a lot less taxpayer money is being spent on treating patients because less patients are being produced. However, when healthcare isn’t free, and the person has to pay for his own doctor’s visit then I really don’t see countries making such a test compulsory. In such a case the rate of inherited diseases will continue increasing.
