First Apartment (NY)

You know what i 've noticed… most places that don’t have much subway ARE alot nicer than the places that do have subways.. Riverdale (in BX) is also the same way, gorgeous gorgeous houses but huge hills and not too many buses. I was in a part of queens, ozone park i think? there were boats in the driveway :cb: and of course kings plaza mall…

My god upper east side, when was this? the buildings in that area..are just nice! but i could nver live there..not in a million years!

i want to move. :hinna:

I lived there from 1995 till 1998, It really was nice, a nice building, good security, no roaches lol. And so very many restaurants and shops - that area is called "restaurant row", you can get any type of cuisine from any area of the world at any time of day or night and even have it delivered to your door!! I really enjoyed my time there, in my own teensy weensy slice of manattan lol. It was expensive, even back then, it was like 1275/month and it was a studio with a loft bed, something like 450 square feet plus a nice balcony that had enough room for a cafe table and 2 small chairs.

If I had not married my prince, I'd still be there!!

seriously? i never found any below 2500ish.. maybe because i was looking for something near the subway and a small commute to midtown.
my husband and i started from scratch last year, we spent 2 months in a furnished rental and during that time found an apt and bought stuff.
you can google furnished rentals in nyc.
also try craiglist just dont pay anyone anything till u see the apt and a proper lease agreement.

2500$ for one bedroom in Brooklyn you got be kidding me ... maximum i see 1500$ AVE-M, Coney Island where i lived last year !

Re: First Apartment (NY)

^yeah, thats really close to impossible. where on earth were you looking? my phuppo lives in a 3 bedroom apt and she pays 2000, even tehn she complains that its alot... I cant imagine anyone paying that much for a one bedroom..

Re: First Apartment (NY)

Re: First Apartment (NY)

Gravesend. Im sure if you look around and hard enough there's other apartments at or around the same price too...
