Newkirk/Foster is considered pretty bad because of the hoodlum type of desi boys that hang out on the corners at night...No offense to anyone who lives there or has family there.. but alot of the families that reside there are cheapy low class people... its gotten better after 9/11 where alot of the filth was deported or went back on their own but it hasnt improved drastically. Not a place you wanna stay at if you've got family. I personally could never live in that type of environment where theres tons of pakistanis... not a good idea. Its better to stay away from there...
Ok Firenze most of the better neighborhoods start at/around avenue o and go all the way down to sheepshead and stuff... so I'd say you should look around a bit. Park Slope is great... but further away from Prospect Park of course. If you hang with more of the downtown crowd, you would really like it there. I'd advise you to look at Bensonhurst, Sheepshead, Bay Ridge, and Marine Park for a balance of desis and other races... and these areas are cleaner, nicer, a tad bit pricier but definitely well worth it. If you have the money, check out Mill Basin... My family used to live there practically our whole life... its a REALLY nice clean neighborhood and close to transportation and the mall...
