First Anniversary

hey gals

I ll be having my 1st anniversary in 5 months…we will be in pakistan just about the same time…so we were thinking to have a nice get together of close family and friends…there is going to be about 30-40 people…any hotels or places in Karachi where we can host a small affair like so???..I will probably get a nice dress and get my makeup done professionally…then we can go for a shoot…
Right now, that’s just a thought and I really dont know how to go about and materialize it since things don’t exactly work out as planned in Pakistan…

OR

We can go for an anniversary trip to some place in Europe for a couple of days…which country, any suggestions???

I m inclined for the first one since it gives me a chance to get all dressed up  … and 1st anniversary is always special…maybe the next special one for me will be the 10th or something…So Which one should I choose???

Re: First Anniversary

Re: First Anniversary

Second one for sure

Just yu and your hubby! No point of going to Pakistan and doing this....30 to 40 people? and your relatives I am guessing? Close immidiate family, yeah for sure. But other ppl are no good...sirf nazar lagane ke liye ....It's hardly ever in pakistan that koi appki khushi main khush hota ho.

bilkul sahi.... so u plz recite 4 kul, and ayat-ul-kursi :) Allah khair karay ga inshAllah :)

Re: First Anniversary

we just had our first anniversary party last sunday! it was a bit early to accommodate people's schedules, but AH it was SO MUCH FUN! i would definitely opt for the first option. you can always make a quick trip to europe on your way back from pakistan or another time- its not going anywhere. but definitely celebrate with your family espe. since you'll already be in pakistan! its such a special day and moment, i mean, seriously, you've mA made it to one whole year of marriage! yay! celebrate it with people you love and who love you so much.
i wore a sari that my nani gave my mom when she got married, and the blouse as mom's too- mom had stitched it herself. it just made it even more special for me, frankly.

so definitely go have your party! go all out, get dressed, do a shoot- this is your family, after all. why wouldn't they be shareek in your happiness?

its an heirloom piece then! the sari was LOVELY and the bright red suit u a lot!

^^What she said, PSB...I dont want to regret later on that I didnt do such n such when I wanted to...and I think Allah mian will take care of it all InshaAllah :)....
u are always welcme to join in..:P

SGC- U look absolutely stunning in your red saree...and ur party seems like alot of fun...that's what I would want, being around everyone on my special day...

so guys! we have Avari bake and take as one option....Is it like a restaurant??

Any other places in Karachi that I can book for a small number of people...PC ballroom maybe???

pics please SGC :D

thanks girls! its lovely of you to say  mom really wanted me to wear red as i wore a light color on my wedding day and she wanted to see a more traditional “dulhani” me on sunday. i’ve never worn red and it turns out its my color! who woulda thunk it?

alishaht, what about BBQ tonight? is that too casual? i remember going to their rooftop patio when i was in karachi a few years back- the food was delish!

gorgeous! glowing! my MIL wants me to wear red on my sis in law's rukhsati so i look like a newly married woman.........lol............my mum too! But i'm wearing one of my lush maria b outfits which i have beautifully accesorised!

Re: First Anniversary

^ now those pics i wanna see!!! you should be brand ambassador for maria b, you know? you were such a picture perfect bride mA.

ha ha ha lol................i have 4 weddings coming up and will be wearing two of the outfits lol..............would love to be invited to a mehndi so I can wear my menhdi suit again! ha ha! Its a bit difficult because as a newly married bride u are expected to be OTT for the first few months, but im such a simple girl, i haven't even wore any gold since my wedding, just a simply kara for the first few days! But I haven't been brought up as a girl who is obsessed by how much gold she has! Plus with the outfits of today funky jewellery looks better. Mind you I would love to wear my barat set again, even though that is gold, but doesn't look it!

my outfits only have kaam on the neck etc, so my jewellery will give it the kick i need................but ppl are saying, that's a bit simple.......but my sisters are like, wear it and everyone will ask where did u get that outfit from!

go for the first one! I think it will be so much fun dressing up and taking professional photos. And Marriott would be a niceee choiceee, whenever I go to Pak, I always make sure to have dinner over there. :)

and SGC, you looook gorgeous mashaAllah. The red color totally suits you!

Re: First Anniversary

SGC you look great in that saree!

Alishaht, if you are going to be in Pakistan, you should go to Bhurban (sp?) for a few days if you can. Have your big party as planned in Karachi, but go there on vacation instead of Europe.

I’ve seen it in pictures and a home video (my parents went to the PC Hotel in Bhurban last October) and it looks like HEAVEN!!

Pearl Continental Hotel Bhurban …

Check out the link for the PC Hotel in Bhurban. You’ll already be in Pakistan and this is the perfect romantic vacation spot. It’s not even that expensive.

Re: First Anniversary

Defo recommend PC Bhourban as a beautiful place to spend some days ater ur anniversary..

Yes its a resturant part of Avari towers hotel but on the outside so you don't have to enter teh hotel if you don't want to. Also there is Copper Kettle at Zamzama and others like that on zamzama (but Copper kettle is my favourite), thing is its usually pretty crowded. You can call and ask them if there is a time when its less crowded or they can reserve table sfor you etc. PC ballroom is very good. I got married there but I think its pretty large for 30-40 people. You can also choose retsurants within PC like Marco Polo etc though that would be a bit expensive.

Yes PC bhurban is very nice, teh views from the hotel are breathtaking.

Re: First Anniversary

my parents went to pc bhurban for their honeymoon, i think!
