This context is wrong because , rich folks will invite other rich folks and those rich folks will have somewhat same kind of homes and stuff in their homes as other rich folks have.
Also this might work for first impression , rich folks have parties on regular basis therefore if someone is a regular at their parties the food would surely matter after the first impression.

I agree. Also, it depends on what you think is good food. I have seen some Pakistani ladies in our community, (who’s hubby’s are the docs and such) that no matter how much they try, they just can’t make good food. Nothing wrong with that, but that’s when you cannot generalize. Since she is trying to make an effort to put good food on the table, but it may not meet our taste-buds.
