Love this thread!! I've heard a girl takes away ur glow because she is taking your beauty n a boy gives you glow :/ dont kno if that's true. I have no idea wat I'm having I've got 10 weeks left n I've been displaying signs from old wives tales tht mean both boy and girl! And my instinct isn't telling me anything :(
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child

the symptoms shows as it is a girl
some old women said that if ur hips look heavier than ur belly u deffinently have a girl
i think it is true in most cases

I've heard this too. But it has not been correct amongst people I know.

Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
^ hrm i wonder why that is? because they sit lower than boys?
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
For those of you who kept it a surprise, ummmm did you do any shopping at all before the baby arrived? I'm assuming it's easy to find gender neutral stuff for the newborns and stuff, but what do you do when they get a litlte older? I guess I'm just thinking once you have a baby, you don't have that much time to go shopping every few weeks to buy stuff, or it is?

They seem to sit further inside the body, so the weight is sort of gained all around. Whereas the boys look like basketballs stuck out in front.
But like I said, I looked like I was having a boy. So did a few other cousins who ended up with girls.
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
did anyone here try baking soda gender test..?
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
No sheal what is that?
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
I want to know the baking soda thing as well..
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
i read it on pregnancy board that u can do it after 10 weeks.
morning first pee in a cup and put 1 tea spoon full of baking soda in it. If it fizzes it's supposed to be a boy, if no fizzing then it's a girl.

Yup I've bought white yellow red and cream coloured apparel for my baby but I haven't bought a lot of things. Hubby and my mum n sister r all ready to go shopping after baby's born to buy gender specific stuff. But I like that I got neutral things they'll come in handy for future babies :D

i used the stuff i got for my shower and then mum and i did the rounds and picked out lots of stuff that was white, blue, green, red, yellow etc. every colour, essentially, but pink and purple. if it had been a girl, i would want her to wear more colours than just those two! i think people limit themselves to those awful pastel yellow and pastel green outfits to remain gender-neutral but i don't see why a navy blue or a orange aren't colours that would work for both genders.

i was waiting for a scan before doing any shopping but at my 26 week scan dr said that baby's leg position in such a way that she can't discover as it is a boy or girl
so i did all my shopping in yellow and blue
in our area doctors dont teell the gender of baby if it is a girl i don't know why?
in my first preg she wrote on my altrasond report xy and it was a boy she confirm it in 23rd week and told me that
second time i did not know till the birth that it is a girl
this is my 3rd preg let's see
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
.
At my scan she didn't even ask us if we wana kno the gender don't think she even checked that part of the baby I dunno why :S is it possible that she forgot?
Re: Finding out the gender of your unborn child
^ nope. in the anatomy scan they have to check everything. are you due for another scan at 20 weeks? or is that the one you are referring to? its possible they don't have a policy of revealing gender unless specifically asked.
^^ That was at my 20 week scan. N she told me no more scans now aswell. I'm 31 weeks now MashAllah so not long to go now I guess but I still found it weird especially since my mumani was asked at her scan (I live in London) if she wants to know the gender. Its made me kinda worried aswell.
