I was just recommended to get kittens by a fellow single young female friend. Great cure for maternal urges for girls who just really cannot get married at the moment.

That kittens are not comparable to children.

The other option is fish. I was also thinking of turtles. Minerva’s turtles had me wanting to head off to the pet store right away.
I got a kitten a few years back..Masti....the best thing I ever did...I soo loved my cat.....but then I got married and my hubby is allergic...
I dont know how great a maternal instinct replacement it is...but there are definate mommy feelings when it comes to your cat!!!

OMG! the stupid furry lil thing is the last thing u can compare to having kids!!!
I dunno about maternal instincts.. but i love having pets around.. specially kittens.. they r soft and cuddly... n comparatively cleaner .. furthermore dependent on you for their food and hygene(sp?) ... its lovely to see them grow into pretty and not so pretty cats ... :-)
This goes to show I am devoid of any maternal instincts. I just can not stand cats 20 ft near me.

yeah get a kitten. surely you cannot get married now. what's wrong with having one single kitten. and next thing you know, you are a 50 year old ugly woman with 27 cats living alone in a apartment and you just wonder what the hell happened to your life or why you never got married. Than it just hits you. No guy wants to marry you cuz of your love affairs with your cutie patootie billi.
