yes, the country is fighting the tribal pashtuns who are allied with the afghan taliban movement. after 9/11 pakistan ditched its old time friends the tribal pashtuns, which include the taliban, and allied themselves with america. hence the term 'fighting america's war'

I find that this whole war is being painted with an "ethnic brush".......that means its Pakistan against the Pashtuns ?????

We know that there are Uzbik’s, Pashtoons, Baloch, Afghans, ARabs, Punjabi’s and other ethnic groups involved in these attacks, but we never hear them taking responsibility as PUSHTOON TALIBANS or Punjabi Talibans or Uzbik Talibans.
They are united as TEHREEK-Taliban Pakistan but we Pakistani ethnic groups are still not willing to accept the reality that these elements DO exist in ALL ethnic groups.

yes the war is part ethnic, it was especially so at the beginning, not because pakistan has made it so but because all the '''''tribal pashtuns''''' are allied togather

there are other groups (punjabi, holy war tanzeems) joining them but the nerve center of anti pak activity remain in the fata region. call them tribal pastuns or taliban or whatever you want, i support peace deals with them or we, pakistan, should just give them independence. simple as

Shyne when some one gets flu we don't look for every virus trying to fight the disease.
We are corrupt/poor and uneducated as a nation. Which make us like a person whos immune system would be compromised easily.
In every society there is potential for those things.
Before more powerful rich country left us alone because we were not of any significance. Then A time came when we could be used for the plans which were bigger then us. So we were used. These pretty much are the after effects of all that.
I want to give you 2 examples.
1-Bhutto saw potential. He made "haves" and "have nots" fight. He won. But father told me pakistan was not the same after that. Poor started thinking every rich was their enemy.
2-Altaf did same crap to become a leader.
So moral of the story is, until we are strong and honest some thing will come up which will cause us damage.

Pakistan is fighting different entities and that is the whole trick that we can't point figure at one person. Thats how difficult it is. There are so many people involve in this conflict that it is so hard to separate them out. But I think we know what we are fighting against. Though I won't give them any of the names you mentioned in the original post. All I would say that we are fighting against a group of enemies.

But using common sense....they are tribal FATA animals...the frankenstein monster that we created to fight the Soviets and then funneled them to fight the Northern Alliance and India in Kashmir.
They turned their guns on Pakistan in trying to create an extremist Islamic state within Pakistan.
People who have a knowledge of History know that this kind of scenarios have happened before such as China supporting their ancient enemies the Vietnamese against the Americans and after the Americans left they turned on each other in a disastrous war in 1979 in which 100,000 Chinese troops were killed.
Columbia and CIA create the AUC Right Wing Paramilitaries to fight the FARc Leftist Gureillas. They soon turn on the state and try replacing with a right wing government.
So read some history, analyze whats going on.
The current violence and carnage in Pakistan is 100% Pakistan's own fault.
They nurtured and brainwashed these animals and now they have turned their guns on them.
Instead of apologizing for them, or blaming the typical laundry list of CIA, Mossad, Israel, Jews, RAW, India, Hindus, you should condemn their behavior and hope the the Pakistani military wipes them out.
Blaming others will only condemn Pakistan to more violence.
India has no hand in Pakistan,anyway.
