there is one scene where this guy is talking to a JINN
he ask jinn some questions

guy:jinn bhai aap logo per aa jaatay hai iss ki kiya waja hai
jinn: yeh to bohut purani baat hai aaj kal to insaano main aisay jinn ho gaye hai jo hum per aa jaatay hain haha

guy: jinn bhai aap apnay faarigh waqt main kiya kertay hain?
jinn: hum punjabi movies dekhtay hain
guy: why
jinn: because punjabi filmo ka mahoul hamaray apnay ghar jaisa lagta hai lol

it might not sound so funny but its erally funny when u watch it..young guppies probably never saw it but they should rent it out

yup Fifty Fifty was the best :k: along with Aliph Noon which is currently on air on prime.

when?

I've seen some of the episodes of fifty fifty, and I really enjoyed them. I think I should rent out the whole series and watch it.

during Dream Saturday which is aired saturday 9:30pm and also in the morning I think. DS shows a full 20 minute segment of aliph noon.

Fifty Fifty was truly hilarious. Ismeal Tara was killer. :rotfl:

Pakistani saturday night live ;)

Ismal tara was my fav!

I need to get hold of it somehow. Any sites selling the cassettes?

year it was the best comedy program ever in Pakistan…so original and so much talent was put together that it was a blast of laughter in those marshal law’s depressed days.

:k:

Can anyone share information where to get those cassettes? Any info in toronto area…where to get them from?

sherry → chicago, devon street…

No doubt it was a great comedy show. But I think "Alif Noon" was even better.

Everyone has ones own choice though.

if you can’t find the videos in your local area then you can order it online from desistore http://www.desistore.com/fiftyfifty.html

Produced by Shalimar Recording Company (SRC)

VCD00011Regular Price: US $15.00Our Price: US $12.99

Arguably, the greatest comedy show ever produced by Pakistan Television.

Cast: Ismail Tara, Majid Jehangir, Zeba Shehnaz, Bushra Ansari, Ashraf Khan, Lateef Kapadia
Running time: 2hrs 15mins
Compatible with all systems (PAL/SECAM/NTSC)

Description:
Ever since the popular show made its debut in the early eighties, many programmes have tried to imitate its slapstick style and humor with little success. The reason, one feels, is that besides the direction and the content of the play, it was the talent of the individual actors involved and the combined team that was the crowning glory.

Perhaps timing and delivery, more than anything else, makes the difference between an average comedian and a great one. Ismail Tara, Zeba Shehnaz & Majid Jehangir all had excellent timing.

Each of them is an extremely versatile artist- such versatility is displayed in the variety of roles the trio have had to enact. The roles ranging from that of a traffic police officer to newscasters to film actors to bihari servants and on and on.

If there was one comedy play one could recommend for the entire family, this would be it.

Please note that although these VCDs are genuine Shalimar Recording Company’s productions, the print is quite average. However, despite this, the VCDs are certainly of watchable quality.

Fifty Fifty (2 Video CDs)

No Doubt....

The Best is the Best.. and Osscourse Allan and Nannaha was also More than Outstqanding... :D

shiraz, what do you think was the funniest 5050 moment? I would say the one where Tara (or was it that other guy) was dancing on the tawa, that was simply hilarious!!! hahahahahah The one where it seemed they were playing hockey, and turned out they were chasing a chicken (murghi) was also funny!

:k: indeep they were the best of their time, for their cassettes, check Eastern Videos or karachi bazar, karachi bazar might not have it, but Eastern should

Nah, man.

The funniest skit ever was the "Basheera in Trouble" one where these Pubjabi actors get training to speak English 'cause they're making an English movie. The three main people in it were Sir Tara, Bushra Ansari and the last guy's name I don't remember (his name ended with Khan).

Also though Ismaeel Tara was incredible in this series, Majid Jehangir was just as good if not better.

Another noteworthy name in 50-50 was the late Lateef Kapadia who passed away last year...

no disrespect intended but I never really found him funny. he was at best a decent punching bag who helped others generate laughs.

he was a good actor but just never came into his own for some strange reason.

Samby, you maybe right about 50-50 but he was particularly good in his role in serials/dramas... There were some awesome performances by him...
