I am going to be wearing dark purple with accents of ruby red and emerald green. My fiance has decided that he wants to wear a dark navy blue suit (even though I would prefer for him to wear classic black or a dark grey suit).
Will his suit go with my outfit…and what colour tie should he wear?
When I thought he was wearing black or grey, the dark purple tie would have gone nicely with it, but now that he wants navy blue (against my wishes!! - Im really trying not to be a bridezilla about it!), I dont think a dark purple tie will look good.
Any suggestions? I thought red, cause my accent colour is red…but I dont want it to look like he is going to a business meeting…

A black suit with a red tie would look soo good! But isn't the tie matching with the brides outfit soooo overdone, I would suggest you let him wear a tie that compliments his dark blue suit now that he has decided to wear it, cuz a red or purple tie with navy blue might not look good

Personally i think black suits look the best for the groom but if does insist on wearing a dark blue one then he shouldn't wear a tie that is a dark solid colour maybe he can wear a white one that has a bit of red or green in it but not too much

my fiance wore a navy suit to our engagement while my outfit was a bright magenta pink. he wore a navy blue tie with a little bit of reddish/pink motifs so it didn't look out of place.

thanks for the suggestions. Yah, with the navy blue suit, I was going to tell him not to match my outfit, just do something that would look good with the suit.

do you have pictures of his suit with the tie and your dress? you can crop out the faces. i might be wearing pink so i need to know how a blue tie will look.
