Re: Female ob/gyn houston

oh yes was looking the other day and she has good reviews. do u have personal experience with her?
if yes, are there really long wait times? did she come for delivery?

Re: Female ob/gyn houston

I am currently seeing her for my pregnancy. I like her. I will have a scheduled c-section so she will have to be there. I guess with a big practice like their is a higher chances of having another (on-call) doctor delivering your baby.

TIMING was my biggest issue at first. I thought first morning appointment would be the best, but they were not. My first appointment i was there for 2 1/2 hrs :O but now i schedule all my appointments on first afternoon slots and things have been great!. Again this is the case with almost all of the doctors in that practice not just her.

one of the things i hated about them was you can never speak to a nurse when you call. always have to leave a message and wait for couple of hours to get a response. I have also learned to work with this and that their online system messages are faster and the best option.

Jessica Rhinehart-Ventura. Meet Our Physicians - Womens Healthcare Associates

Her office is in downtown but she also has privileges at Texas Children’s. No personal experience since I prefer male gyno’s but I’ve had 2 friends who use her. Haven’t heard anything negative about her from fiends. Also, my husband works with her on a regular basis during her births (vaginal and sections) and hubby tells me her skills are good. I’m not sure how your first child was born but Rhinehart has a special interest in doing VBAC and from what my husband tells me, she’s very pro-natural birth and does not do interventions unless there are strong clinical indications for it.

BTW, I used to see another gyno at the Women’s Specialists’s and I agree with Rabia that timing with them sucks. They are a big practice and volume is HIGH. I only saw my gyno for regular visits but I always felt like my visits are rushed (maybe because I wasn’t pregnant?). I spent more time with the nurse than the actual gyno. They were also useless when I called them about 2 years ago with a bleeding problem. Left a message, nurse called me back and basically didn’t take any of my complaints seriously and told me to wait and see what happens in a few days. The very next day I passed out due to blood loss and ended up in the hospital. Also, as Rabia mentioned, due to the high-volume of this practice, unless you’re having a scheduled c-section, there is no guarantee that your specific OB will deliver your baby. And this practice has male OBs so there is a chance a male OB may be on duty when you go in labor.

Yetunte Adigun.... She is at Kelsy Seybold clinic in Sugar Land and she is so great. Extremely helpful, knowledgable, and kind. She did not deliver my babies because it was an emergency c-section. However, she was always available and returned pages even in the middle of the night. If someone was covering for her, they did the same. Very quick to respond and very thorough. I think the longest I waited was about one hour when she had to go deliver during an emergency. Otherwise, wait times were around 15 mins.

My maternal-fetal specialist, on the other hand, made me miserable. I would have to wait 1-3 hours each time and my BP used to drop.

Re: Female ob/gyn houston

If you are looking for a female ob/ gyn, make sure that the practice is all female. Y(es, they exist) as whoever is on call will come for your delivery. I made sure of that in two different states and Alhumdulillah got female doctors each time. Its common not to get a nurse on the phone with different types of doctors, a practice that is increasing. If there is a receptionist option, press that and leave a message with them personally. It usually works faster.

Re: Female ob/gyn houston

With the Women's Specialist, you have to always leave a message and they call you back. But there was one time when i left a vm in early morning time and i didn't receive a call back until 3:30ish.
For my first pregnancy I went with Dr. Weilie Tjoa. She is only associated with St. Joseph in downtown. We moved and that location was not convenient for me. (i now work in the med center.) Dr. Tjoa was great and her office was very helpful too. I also recd. her but you want someone in the med center.

Re: Female ob/gyn houston

I don't live in Texas but have noticed the "phone message" attitude is increasing all over the USA with different specialties not just ob gyn.. Not all doctor offices do this of course. Congratulations on your pregnancy.
