pcg: dont be so knee jerk. while lesbianism may have existed in previous eastern cultures, the social acceptability in the west is much more than in pakistan. and its disingenious to suggest that this particular incident has nothing to do with westernization, how many in your pind have heard of ecstacy?

Lesbian has existed in eastern cultures? Do explain. The Greeks had the Island of Sapphire. So did the Romans their own acceptance of homosexuality, but homosexuality accepted in Eastern Culture? I am highly confused. You have any links for such claims?

Homosexuality has existed in every culture since the dawn of time, but only accepted in a few. But how do you go from questioning the 'existence', to asking for proof that it was 'accepted'? Two diffrent things.

You dork, I said it EXISTED IN these cultures. Not that it was condoned by them. By the way, our own Quran talks about corrupt civilizations of the current Persian and Arabian lands. Remember Babylon? Remember what happened when Moses himself went up the Mountain to get the 10 Commandments?
What I meant by my statement is that Lesbianism and homosexuality is not something that white people of the West invented up. And its not something that you can say is more heavily concentrated in the West, because things happen in the East too - just behind closed doors. Who are you to say people are only screwing with their legal spouses? Did you go do a door to door inventory?
If its so outlawed in Islam and such a topic of discussion, then I would think it must be occurring in the East for the Quran to have broached the topic in the first place. Common sense.
Oh and the Egytpian empire had lots of these issues of lesbianism, sodomy, molestation, etc. I forget what pharoah it was...sometime in the King Tut era...guy's name starts with an A...but there is some evidence that he had a viewing room in which outsiders could watch him screw with little boys. Or so that's what our World History teacher had told us. He had some sort of condition in which in his later age, his body began to look more feminine.

I know you live in california right? I live in Miami. At one of my jobs, one guy once said that LA-Miami-NYC make up a triangle of craziness.
Don't judge the rest of the United States by these three areas. California overall is pretty liberal, but its one of the few states that is. The rest of them are very much against homosexuality, and right now, homosexuals are still on their "fight for their rights".
So don't say that lesbianism is a very big part of Westernization. Its not. Its part of the underground culture - the same underground culture of sex that exists everywhere. People in Lahore are kinky too.

Sweetheart the way our dear feminist protrayed it was that it was an accepted norm. Only two societies have accepted homosexuality. As for it existing in every world is basically a strawman.
I must say i love the way history teachers come up with bull**** with historical basis for the statement. Just explain to me how can that statement make any sense when nobody from that time is alive? Where is the proof to make it fact?
Now back on to subject matter. Homosexuality male or female is haram. I as a guy am very disgusted by female homosexuality. It is not a turn on in the least. Now the issue of this being a western brought issue, is valid. Homosexuality is accepted in Western society. It is not accepted in Islamic. The is just an effect of western influences in our society.
Additionally I blame our sexually repressed society. To stop homosexuality we need to accept heterosexual relationships more openly. Co-education and mixed social environments. Additionally people need to keep it in the pants.

Firstly where did United states come into the picture. I said westernization, which includes T.A.T.U just as much as it includes the L Word.
secondly, the other side of america that you speak of is fighting for representation on the media and hasnt come close to winning its own battle yet. what is packaged and shipped across to countries like ours as standard americana fare does include things like the L word or will and grace and a high acceptance and fashionability of homosexuality. but again, westernization isnt just about america or its internal politics.
