How is this credited to modernisation of Pakistan? I hope you aren't saying that somehow government is supporting this? We're still light years away from even remotely accepting that gays/lesbians exist in Pakistani society.

Yeah I really really dislike how you've tied this story with the title of the thread. I dont think female liberation has anything to do with alternative sexuality.
You're talking about a country in which women are not allowed to speak for themselves or advance themselves in many situations.
And then you use this minor story as an example of liberation. Are you trying to mock women's lib? You silly little kid you. If it wasn't for women's lib, then you'd be seeing your own daughters and sisters and your own mother treated like crap.

They don’t!! I guess I should remind you these problems only existed in western society.. This happened in Pakistan.. It is sad governent has so freely allowed TV and internet in Pakistan.. There should NOT be TV, theatres, radio or internet in our mulq… only a few ppl should be allowed ton operate computer with a valid license from local mosque… Girls shouldn’t be allowed to study at all.. I am shocked to read the link…

What do you mean by crap? please explain.. Islam gives maximum protection to women.. do u think women in the west is liberated? drugs, divorce and pre-marital sex - do u call it liberation? I hate to say this but pakistani families in US and canada have given lot of freedom to their daughters - they are allowed to wear western outfits, go out without hijaab and without permission from elders not accompanied by brother, father or any other relative..

Same with Zakk. I do believe there is some conspiracy going on amongst the boys here - they just like to bother the girls. Its like sticking a stick in the water and trying to poke a fish.

this isnt so much a result of women having liberties (since the women were 'caught') as it is of westernization. i dont know if the government is responsible for this or not, i think its more of a social problem than a problem of policy. certainly less and less emphasis these days is laid in our media on our own religious and cultural heritage, we're either looking to the east or west for getting our popular culture. and high school children particularly from well off areas are immersed in western norms, which includes the acceptability and fashionability of 'alternate sexuality'.. but goes beyond it. i've never seen a generation gap this small, im hopelessly out of touch with my 18 year old cousins.

bullcrap. its not "westernization". Lesbians have existed in previous and current Eastern cultures/civilizations/empires.
Why do you guys keep dumping all the blame on the West. So two girls try out the act of screwing each other and its the Big Bad West?

Why not the same outrage when our righteous Mullas are caught in the sancitity of the Mosques or Madarssas deflowering little boys? Should we close all mosques and madarssas cause they too have been the location of such acts of carnal desire?
An important question that needs urgent attention and indepth exploration is:
Does anyone know anything about the pill's these girls took? How can u lose conciousness by taking aphrodasiacs? Either they had one hell of a great time OR there is something very very fishy about this entire episode.
