My current flatmate is moving out and so I put up an ad for a room in my flat. So far only females have shown interest. The flat has two bedrooms only.
For a single guy from desi background, is it a good idea?

yeah. that's an issue, common bathroom. I spent a brief time in similar situation before. She would raise petty issues every other day!

hmmmm... I don't think its a good idea.
But if nothing else works out for you, do what you think is best.

Girls are clean usually and I am talking about non-desi ones . Go for Asian or Mexican .

^ seems true about the nagging part. My current flatmate never had issues with dishes in the sink for days, waiting to be washed!
I did not put my pic in or disclose my nationality thinking that might scare potentials away. I wonder if my name sounds Maxican!

Well, the issue is that I am not particular about cleanliness or tidying up things :P
Guys generally don't bother about these things but girls might!

In my case - I was the one raising issues - specially on the days when Aunt Flo and cousin Red come to visit my Russian flat mates

i dont think it should be a problem as long as you know your restrictions. and shared kitchen/bathroom can be a problem with anyone be it a boy or a girl. i think the best would be to set out rules like the shared kitchen/toilet will be cleaned every other day and you two will have turns. (not sure if its a uni flat as they are maintained by their cleaners).
just an advice on a side note: dont tell anyone that you are sharing your flat room with a girl on her own.

i don't see a problem but if it is a girl flatmate, can't you change a bit and clean up after yourself and maybe do the dishes. think up a schedule so the day she cooks the meal for both of you, you do the dishes and the day you cook she does the dishes. maybe even have a bathroom/kitchen cleaning schedule for both of you, just so there are no gender clashes and arguments.
you'll actually make yourself a better person and maybe even a better husband in the future being around a girl flatmate.
