how come i've never heard of women as first female pope <<<
[/quote]
coming back to the point of a female pope, there is some historical documentation (although very debatable) that around 800 AD there was in fact a female pope, named Popess Joan. Do a google search to read more about her :--p
Btw PCG everybody knows that Hiliary is using the immense popularity that Bill Clinton has and had to her advantage. She is Hiliary Clinton. Not Hiliary Rodman. She is using her husband plain and simple.
What i meant with my earlier post was that people go off spouting statistics that 30% of the female work force is unemployed. 40% of african woman have HIV/AIDs. Well that is a shame. But what are the rest of the 70% or 60% in this case? Sheep? Cattle? No they are men. See the reverse discrimination? Women are being favored over men in all forms and given more attention.
Feminism is no more about equality. It is about superority just like facisms and nazism. Why do you think the term Feminazi was coined? To ridicule women? Hardly.
Not credible at all. There has never been a female pope to date. No credible and accepted historical literature proves that. If it did there would be a precedence which the Pope could not over-rule.
It has problems, but at the end of the day, in the UK, a homeless bum with an injury can walk into any hospital in the country and get treated with no questions asked, no paperwork to sign.
Socialised medicine means guaranteed (eventual) free access to medical care for all. The medical care may not be of the highest quality, but everyone in the country can get it.
If you have money and want higher quality medical care, you can always pay extra and be treated through private medical insurance.
Providing medicine to the bum is not the priority. Its medicine, it has to be of the highest quality. We americans expect nothing less. Not to mention long waits associated with seeing a doctor even for a common cold in socialized medicine.
The other 70% of the first equation are… quess what? women, CM. The 60% in the next equation are… guess what? women, CM.
Normally, you aren’t this scattered, so I think you were just reading a bit too quickly and missed the fact that these statistics were about women only. If you want statistics for men, google them, then you won’t feel so neglected.
Minah_pa and ravage when you break down labour statistics you do not break it down differently for gender. If you do you don't belong in the census division. Labour statistics are broken down world wide into gender and age group. So if there is 30% unemployment in a country that 30% is taken as a 100% and then broken down by gender. So out of that 30% men are unemployed at 70% and women at 30%. Understand the simple concept?
Ok this is how statistics are complied to my knowledge. You take say employment.
100 people nation. 50 women 50 men.
Working force 40 people. 20 women and 20 men.
Now if you say 50% (20 out of 40) of women are employed is a correct statistical figure as you are stating how many women are employed from the total labour pool that can be employed.
While if you say 40% (20 out of 50) of women are employed you are incorrect as not all the women are employed or of working age from which you are taking the sample.
The figures you quoted above are not like the convoluted sample hypothesis whatever you put up there. They are straightforward....... Instead of being prideful and digging yourself more of a hole, go back up and read the little paragraph again.
About the non-white Pope....
sara_zzz - it took them over 400+ years to elected a Pope that was not Italian. One step at a time :)
I'm sure to get beaten up about this, but from what I've seen, MOST times, if a PERSON (whether black, white, yellow brown, male or female) has EARNED the respect of peers and those "above" on the ladder of success, then they will advance. Its those who are the loudest complainers, those like Al Sharpton, who cannot even speak proper english, who set "their people" back. Women in the US anyway, are afforded much opportunity in the corporate world because those women who are dedicated and educated, can speak proper english etc make the company look GOOD when they are advanced into the upper ranks. As do "minorities", they will always be chosen over a white male, all else being equal, just because they are rare and they make the company look great....so if you find yourself shouting complaints...take a good hard look. Are you dressing properly? Walking the walk and talking the talk? SPeaking like an educated and intelligent adult? I'm not talking about women as priests or popes, soldiers or firefighters here. Thats a different story altogether and one that I'm SURE you'd not like my views on lol!! I'm talking about the corporate world where most of us will find ourselves at one point or another...
Yeah, it is an obious one in a way. The Vatican is in Rome, lol, Italian home advantage :) not necessarily more favorable. Everything is spoken in Italian and services are preformed in Latin.
