we used to stay out all night every night with friends in my village and used to go to our own orchards to steal fruits like mangoes, guavas, baRhals, bai'rs [Indian Plums] etc. it was sooooo much fun! :)

whats BaRhal? whats the difference between amrood and safarjal BTW? few days back I went Empress market for buying fruits. I saw amrood and asked 'amrood kaise diye?' the uncle of Kinzz age said ' beta, ye amrood nahin safarjal hain'.

baRhal is also called Lakoocha…Itis a very ugly looking fruit from outside…lagtaa hai kisii aise bande kaa sar jisko muta’addid choTeN aane se jaa ba jaa soojan aa gaii ho lol…magar, Theek se pakaa huaa [fully ripened] phal jitnaa bad-soorat nazar aataa hai utnaa hii Khush-rang bhii hotaa hai…iskii jild par bahot se rangoN ke dhabbe nazar aate haiN jaise yahaN Canada meN fall colors hote haiN…andar se deep orangish hotaa hai aur saaKht iskii shareefa [apple custard/seetaphal jaisii hotii hai…ya’nii they have lots of seeds that are covered with pulp]…iskaa zaa’iqa turshi maa’il [sweet N sour] hotaa hai aur it has a great flavour. yeh phal hamaare ilaaqe meN mausam-e-baaraaN meN paayaa jaataa hai…yeh tasveereN dekh leN:

we used to play and fight a lot. our parents were not in favor of going to play carrom outside so they bought us a carrom at home. I remember during summer Ramadan, we used to play carrom most of the time in afternoon
