Re: Fear?
I am up for change and sometimes like change because it gives a new twist to life but at times, I am afraid of change too because I have no knowledge of the unseen and hence, am afraid as to how that change might affect my life.

Re: Fear?
for me change is good...but not all the time!
Re: Fear?
I welcome any kinda change; it's just another opportunity to take things from a different perspective, and when you fail to adopt to the new situation is when you dislike change. So it's really upto the individual, but change's almost always good.
Re: Fear?
interesting topic, zobia :>
very nice.
here is what i have to offer. change/development makes sense if you are improving your grade for an exam by retake.
but, it will hurt if you are finding yourself in a situation where you have no hope and chance of reuniting but ending up with a replacement for something or someone, even though you did not cause it...
it is that peculiar hurt and sense of disappoinment that mellows your own ability to be insensitive, because ideally you dont want to be shifting from something or someone you truly gave space in your space or heart.
ideally, that permanence of that thing or person being with you
would be the best change.
but if it is halted, dueto no fault of your own, then, fear takes many shapes.
detachment, disinterest, disappointment and dismay.
getting over or moving on from that point is bound to make you stronger and but still, it depends just how honest you are, that you wont still change into somebody uncaring.
so it is a double bind situation.
may Allah swt help over come fears of own and may others also be able to do away with their implanted doubts and unreal fears. amen.
best,
Dushwari
Re: Fear?
Change is among the constants of life. But if we can influence the process of change, we should try to ensure that it's a change for the better and not for the worse. For example, we must find a better alternative if the status-quo has become untenable in our eyes. The other kind of change is beyond our control. But how we react to it makes all the difference.
I'm not against changing the curtains of my living room. As a matter of fact, I've never liked them.
Re: Fear?
Both…in equal measure!
Re: Fear?
I heart change. From things/places or even to ppl.
Re: Fear?

Re: Fear?
Depends on my mood and what it is.
i.e. I absolutely hate it when we were little and my mom used to change the look/settings of my room every so many days. I am looking forward to my upcoming move to another city and I am really excited about it even though it will be a FRESH start for everything.
Re: Fear?
Change is a must, even if you strive for a status quo. I face the change with the curiosity of a child, in and out , over and above, look for something that I can compare with the past , past so dear to me, so very nostalgic. The slavery of time and space has made me so open to a change, a change that I would have not liked otherwise, a change that would rid me of my purity of childhood and leave the scratches of time in the form of wrinkles. A change that digs my grave, inch by inch, and dust brings the dusk of my life...................
I fear change for it rings the bell , a bell that rings with every tic of the clock, it admonishes me that you can not hold the grains of dry sand in your fist for long.
But I love change too, I love change because it tells me the stories of colors, a never ending queue of marvels that Good Lord has created for us. Change introduces to me the fragrance of spring, colors of fall, hope in sun and songs of the rain.............................Change is a must, whether you like it or not!!!!!!!!!
