Fear of Ageing?

So have you ever thought about your old age? Esp at the time when we are young, ambitious individuals.

What are your fears regarding it?
-health issues and ailments

  • dependency
  • loneliness

or anything else ?

i dont fear it anymore. I have already aged.

Mainly health issues. Scares me at times.

Yes I am afraid of aging…the health problems…and especially the wrinkles. :hinna: I know… I’m vain.

But I will fight all of this…by becoming a cougar aunti. :k337:

I do fear old age but I dont plan to live that long to worry about it... I want Allah to grant me just enough time in this World to make a mark and achieve something awesome but if it dont happen I wont mind. I cant imagine wanting to live beyond 60 or 70 though... I just wont allow myself to be a burden to anyone.

I dont have to strap a bomb to myself at 70 something either.... If I wanted to go out in style I would simply go on one last journey into the Wilderness all alone... that way nobody would ever know how I met my end and where my final resting place was.

I will be 60 in six weeks time and I have never feared aging. All I want is not to be a burden on anyone and live a long and healthy life. Think positive, age is just a number, it is how you feel.

The dependence on others is my biggest fear..and so is loneliness.

Like the time when your own kids are old and busy in their own routines that they might even forget to call up to ask how I am.

**i'm NOT afraid of anything in life including ageing except the fear of what will happen to me after i pass on. would my deeds be an asset or a liability? would those deeds be enuf to enter paradise? would those deeds be a reason to be thrown into hellfire? would i be able to reunite with my loved ones?

obviously, there is NO answer to those questions? i think 'HOPE' is the key to live peacefully as one gets older...hope that Allah will forgive you and will enter you in paradise...!!!

May Allah bless us ALL with good health and long enuf life to see the loved ones' happiness. aameen :)**

Esp the time when you get old and you actually have to ask for somebody to steady you and hold you incase you get unbalanced and fall?
