Whats your favourite verse or chapter from the Quran, the Bible, or any other Religous Text.. and why?
Mine is Chapter18 Surah-Al-Kahf (The Cave), theres so much wisdom in it, not that other surahs dont but this one is just different..
Surah thakathur chapter 102.. is great too, it’s just Bham! in ur face… excellent reminder…
On the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab, who said : I heared the messenger of Allah salla Allah u alihi wa sallam say :
"Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated."
Then even nothingness was not, nor existence.
There was no air then, nor the heavens beyond it.
What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping?
Was there then cosmic water, in depths unfathomed?
Then there were neither death nor immortality,
nor was there then the torch of night and day.
The One breathed windlessly and self-sustaining.
There was that One then, and there was no other.
At first there was only darkness wrapped in darkness.
All this was only unillumined water.
That One which came to be, enclosed in nothing,
arose at last, born of the power of heat.
In the beginning desire descended on it -
that was the primal seed, born of the mind.
The sages who have searched their hearts with wisdom
know that which is is kin to that which is not.
And they have stretched their cord across the void,
and know what was above, and what below.
Seminal powers made fertile mighty forces.
Below was strength, and over it was impulse.
But, after all, who knows, and who can say
whence it all came, and how creation happened?
The gods themselves are later than creation,
so who knows truly whence it has arisen?
Whence all creation had its origin,
he, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not,
he, who surveys it all from highest heaven,
he knows - or maybe even he does not know.
Hard to pick one "favourite" but this one means many things to me:

Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction. {xiii.28}

All of Quran is the Word of God, and the words of one's beloved are always near & dear without favoritism.
59:25 - *He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Fashioner, His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. *

any source/reference????
i am highly doubtful that these r Prophet's sayings....
I think there should be no favourates umang st the hadith s or the verses of quran becauce each describe a different or may b same part of the islamic faith and with out believing even one of these the IIslamic faith would now b complete... :)
And u cant say this saying of Allah Almigghty is better than the other one and same eith the saying of Holy Prophet BPUUH
^^Still, there are some verses in the Quran and there some words of our Holy Prophet :saw: that touch everyone’s soul differently, intimately and emotionally…
They being part of our faith, hold special meaning for us and through which we evolve for the better…
Although I agree, the whole of Quran and the words of our Holy Prophet :saw: are sublime, yet some words have a special place in every Muslim’s heart yet all follow it…

post 1: i post my favorite verse....
post 2: someone posts his/her favorite verse and i question whether the words mentioned r actually what he/she said....
My favourite is this Hadith Qudsi, which I found in An-Nawawi's 40 Hadith.
On the authority of Anas, who said: I heard the messenger of Allah say:
Allah the Almighty has said: "O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as its."
Related by Al-Tirmithi, who said that it was a good and sound Hadith
This Hadith really moves me everytime I read it. It makes me nearly cry with joy and love of Allah SWT.
