Southee, not every tribe invaded India, my tribe is Scythian from Central Asia, I am a jatt sikh, my tribe sneaked in when Kushan empire was weakening, that is why we are not mentioned in hindu Vedas. Indo greek king menander, kushan empire, was greek in origin but he was devout vaishnav. Before invasion of Islam, anyone who invaded or sneaked in became part of Sanatan Dharam, Hinduism. You might have heard about infamous Khap Panchayat of Jats in Haryana, it is similar in structure and functions with Pashtun culture of Loya Jirga.. Jat/Jatt entered in after third century AD and remained farmer till Guru Gobind singh’s Khalsa army.

Rajputs are not mentioned as Kshatriyas in Hindu Vedas and Purans, the kshytriya tribes are like Ikshavaku, avanteya, yadavs etc. these tribes claims themselves Chandravanshi where as Rajput claim themselves as Suryavanshi. Rajpoot comes from vedic word Raj Putra, royal sons, Rajpoot from rajasthan are Suryavanshi, the thakurs of northern India who also use rajput titles are mostly chandravanshi, agnivanshi or nagvanshi precisely as mentioned in Vedic literature where as Suryavanshi Rajasthani Rajputs are post vedic creature and are mentioned in post vedic literature like Ramayan and Mahabharat

Chankya said long ago, if your economic strength doesn’t translate into military strength your kingdom remains most vulnerable. India was rich land, it was protected by hindukush mountains in west and Himalaya from north thus preventing both dry winds and snow from north giving moderate winters and fertile lands. When a society lives in abundance it hardly thinks about exploring anything, adi shankracharya philosophy “Braham satyam jagat mithya” god is truth and world is illusion was the primary mindset of ours for centuries, Apart from that we had obsolete rule of engagement, like prithiviraj chauhan didn’t chase the retreating army of ghouri after first battle of Tarain claiming that Suryavanshi never hit at the back of enemy. Krishna of mahabharat would have termed this as tactical mistake though
