Maximus Decimus Meridius: What we do in life, echoes in eternity.

Proximo: In the end, we're all dead mean. Sadly, we cannot choose how, or when. But what we can choose is how we decide to meet that end, so we are remembered forever as men.

OK this is kinda funny in a way :D
They told me your son squealed like a girl when they nailed him to the cross...and your wife moaned like a whore when they ravaged her again and again and again

If you find yourself alone, riding through green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled, for you are in Elysium, and are already dead.

:( I am struggling to find the "funny" part. I think this is very sad.
"Go ahead, make my day!" Det. Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) daring a crook to shoot his hostage in Sudden Impact (1983).
"When a man is chasing a woman in the park, naked with a butcher's knife in his hand, I don't think he'll be collecting for the Red Cross!" Detective Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) in Dirty Harry (1971).
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room!" President Merkin Muffley (Peter Sellers) stopping a dispute in Dr. Strangelove.

Platoon
Chris Taylor: I think now, looking back, we did not fight the enemy, we fought ourselves. The enemy was in us. The war is over for me now, but it will always be there, the rest of my days. As I'm sure Elias will be, fighting with Barnes for what Rhah called "possession of my soul." There are times since, I've felt like a child, born of those two fathers. But be that as it may, those of us who did make it have an obligation to build again. To teach to others what we know, and to try with what's left of our lives to find a goodness and a meaning to this life.
More from Platoon (one of my favorite war movies of all time) :)
King: Hey, Taylor, how in the **** you get here anyway? You look educated.
Chris Taylor: I volunteered for it.
King: You did what?
Chris Taylor: I volunteered. I dropped out of college, told 'em I wanted the infantry, combat, Vietnam.
Crawford: You volunteered for this *, man?
Chris Taylor: Believe that?
King: You's a crazy *er, giving up college?
Chris Taylor: Didn't make much sense, I wasn't learning anything. I figured why should just the poor kids go off to war and the rich kids always get away with it.
King: Oh, I see, what we got here is a crusader.
Crawford: Sounds like it.
King: *, you gotta be rich in the first place to think like that. Ever'body know, the poor are always being *ed over by the rich. Always have, always will.
Here are some great ones, from one of my great movies
** Lion of the Desert**
"No, my son ... Should I and my followers go now to Egypt, we would never be able to return. And how could we abandon our people and leave them leaderless, to be devoured by the enemies of God?”
--Omar Mukhtar
"We fight, because we have to fight for our faith and our freedom until we drive the invaders out or die ourselves. We have no other choice. To God we belong and unto Him do we return.”
--Omar Mukhtar
"I shall not cease to fight against thee and thy people until either you leave my country or I leave my life. And I swear to thee by Him who knows what is in men’s heart that if my hands were not bound this very moment, I would fight thee with my bare hands, old and broken as I am ..."
--Omar Mukhtar
and my all time fav :)
"We'll never surrender, we'll haver the next generation to fight you, next and next...till your end. As for me i'll live longer than my hanging."
