Favorite Airline(s)

I have not travelled on more than four-five air lines but i dont htink any air line could surpass Emirates, in terms of quality, service, comfort. No wonder it has one popular airline award thrice in last 5 years or so.

PIA is no that customer focused anymore. Yes they are making lots of profits but unfortunate incidents are still aplenty.

Saudia Airline was a great experience too. It had recently bought 777 when i travelled on it last itme around and the quality of service was top notch.

you ppl share your experiences too… i will add more later.

Korean airlines is very hospitable and their take offs are very adventures. I recommend them though if you are coming to North America from Pakistan, its something different than the typical UK to US flight.

Everyone always talks about Emirates, makes me want to travel.

I have travelled on a number of airlines all over the world. The two best airlines as far as service goes are Qantas and Cathay Pacific. The worst one was Pan American.

Qantas service is out of this world and I for one will always remain very grateful to them. We had travelled to Australia by Qantas on a holiday. My wife and son took the flight from UK and I joined them from Bahrain. The ticket was London/Sydney return. It was a special fare and could only be used on the dates booked. After arriving in Sydney, we went on to Melbourne and then on to Adelaide. While in Adelaide I received a call from my parents at around 9 pm at night informing me that my son was seriously ill and in Intensive care in hospital in UK. I immediately rang Qantas to rearrange my flights back to UK. The women at Qantas initially told me that the I could only travel on the pre booked dates, but when I told her my situation, she worked with me from 9 pm to 3 am trying to contact London get permission for me and my family to travel on the same tickets and book me all the flights. In the end she booked me on a flight from Adelaide to Melbourne at 9 am the following morning and then from Melbourne to Sydney and Sydney to London. We had left some luggage at our Melbourne hotel. My wife went to pick up the luggage while I booked the seats. My wife got delayed and because of the dilemma we were in Qantas delayed the flight by 30 minutes till my wife came back. From Sydney the flight made two stops one at Singapore and the other at Bahrain. At both these stops Qantas took us into their airport office and let us phone the hospital to find out about our son. Finally when we reached London, Heathrow airport was closed due to fog and the flight was diverted to Manchester. After the plane landed at Manchester airport we discussed the situation with Qantas staff and they weren’t sure how long the plane would have to stop at Manchester. We were in a hurry so they let us off the plane there and took our luggage tags. They delivered our luggage to our home three days later. A few days afterwards I received a letter from the airline enquiring about my son's welfare.

Now this is what I call service. They went out of their way to help us in our hour of need.

I trsut your son recovered fine and is well.

That's real service, I mean for the reservation agent to be on the problem for 6 hours to find a solution, to delay a flight, to let you off at Manchester. Some service dude. Other airlines may have done one of these but service all along the line!!!

Emirates is good but I think over rated. The economy seats are tooooo close together and on long flights that's tough.

Cathay was good experience, and the landing at Kai Tak in between the high rise buildings in a downpour - wow.

PIA USED to be fantastic - as the ad said "Great people to fly with".

Pan Am was bad and so was American Airlines - basically the attitude (and actions) of the cabin staff left a lot to be desired.

Canadian Airlines was neat, clean, good service.

had a terrible experience with emirates in 1996. haven't taken it since.

we used to take BA when i was little, and that was always nice.

Swiss is good too -- nice service, etc. but no longer flies to Pak from DC :(

PIA used to be awful, heard it's much better now....

I have travelled on a lot of airlines.

The worst experience so far: Aeroflot (Russian Airlines)

The best (believe it or not): PIA

My ratings are

1) Virgin Atlantic
2) Emirates
3) PIA
4) Austrian Airline (All Business class corporate travelling)
5) BA
6) Gulf Air
7) Saudia (or Saudi Airlines)

.
third last) Air Canada
second last) Easy Jet
last or worst experiece ) United Airways & Helios Air (its cypriot airline).

So far I have travelled through (apart from above mentioned are) KLM, Air France, Dutch Air, Britishmidland (now BMI), Dutchbird, Transavia, American, Kuwait Airways, Swissair, Alitalia, Iberia, & yes by Air-India. I travelled in Luftansa and Pan-Am when I was a under the age of 10 years old so I am exluding them from my list as an experience because I dont remember.

Air-India was much better than many known airlines and I have to give them that credit.

I gotta admit, once you get around the PIA bullcrap and actually get a good seat on the plane, its not a bad experience. Even on economy, PIA feeds you like crazy and the food isnt too bad either. Although I think the bathrooms are disgusting and they never change those cloths on the headrests anymore and never expect PIA to be on time!

It may sound surprising, but calling a take-off as “adventure” is not something which I would do while recommending an airline, unless ofcourse, you are booking a flight just for the kicks. :hehe:

I’d say Emirates is very good. Cathay is good too. PIA is a hit or miss. I try not to travel with them on international routes. They are ok for domestic travel. More than ok, actually. I think they are the best option from amongst the rest.

PIA, no way no more!!! i had too many bad experiences with them,

Emirates and Saudi Airlines are thebest

i hate the airhostesses on PIA they are so soo snooty!

^ I swear the PIA airhostess define snooty they give the flight such a bad name, helping others is certainly not their cup of tea. Khair despite that I liked PIA I watched songs on TV the whole way there, and ate, ate, ate they feed you the whole way there and I have to admit I liked their food...but then again I don't have anything to compare it except that my mamoo and mumani went to Pakistan a week before us and took China they had miserable luck with the food it was boiled vegetables and rice the whole way there.

Trust me guys a little bit fake flirting with PIA airhostess will definately make a huge differece as far as the service is concerned, try it ... u will feel the difference.

Najim bhai jaan… kuch khuda ka khauf karein… ye bachooN ko kisss qism ke masharay day rahay hein aap?

ps. Waisay I am assuming you don’t travel PIA when you are travelling with the whole family. Haan ji? :stuck_out_tongue:

My Family & PIA doesn't go together ... I always travelled on PIA alone ... well my last travel by PIA was in 1996. I was single in those days anyway.

I am sure family men wont flirt with airhostesses.

my last experience with PIA airhostess was very pleasant actually. some of them actually came and sat with me and my mom to conversate. then when they found out it was my birthday they brought chocolate cake and gave me gifts n stuff, celebrated my birthday in the air

but then again it was my only trip by PIA. its just more convinient cuz its direct flight from toronto to khi.

my favourite has to be emirates and kuwait airways.

i feel most at home travelling PIA

but the best airline service wise is emirates...

I flew on British Airways for the first time ever last month. I was absolutely amazed - it's leaped straight to the top of my fav. airlines list.

Gonna fly BA whenever I can afford to from now on....

BA, has to be the worst Airline for me , everytime I flew BA, I got sick during the flight and funnily it only happens on the BA and didnt occur on any other Airlines.

Qantas ? hahahahaha if you say so.

Air India.
