I flew on British Airways for the first time ever last month. I was absolutely amazed - it's leaped straight to the top of my fav. airlines list.

Gonna fly BA whenever I can afford to from now on....

British Airways ------->>> Most Racist

I think (don’t be offended MS) but if you look like a Pakistani , they will fine tune their attitude and be all nice and smoochy . If u don’t look like a Pakistani and catch them off guard you see what they do with you.

*I was flying from Gatwick to Geneva (Switzerland). The Swiss government has a policy that if u r living in UK for more then 6 months u do not require a visa for Swiss.. I hold a Pakistani passport. At the time of check in I approached the counter the female had a pleasant smile to greet me after I gave her my passport the scenario quite changed. First of all she kept looking, through various pages of my passport. Then she exclaimed! Excuse me u don’t have a visa for switz.. so u cant board this flight(in a very loud and discreminating way). I explained the rule and she said well! all u Indians / Pakistanis are not allowed anywhere with out a visa. I told her to call the immigration at the airport to sort out the problem, she called them and told me to step out of the line, I stood there for 10 minutes and she said that she was right and i need to get a visa. As I was getting really angry i started to look for some help at the airport. At that time she received another call and went hummm hummmm hummm . She closed the phone and called me back(with just a flick of her hand), WITHOUT any apology, with a loud voice so that every one in the queue could listen she said "well! This is the only country that allows u to enter with out a visa," as she was handing me the boarding card I told her that it doesn’t mean that every one who has a green passport is a criminal.
She looked at me and said "probably" and turned her face with an indifferent attitude . I gave her a piece of my mind and then walked to the gate. But in fact she managed to destroy my whole vacation in Switzerland.
It is a horrible feeling to be looked down upon because of ur colour cast or religion .......
So people, or let me rephrase “Asians”, don’t travel with British Airways.

I did report the matter to the Chairman BA ….but no action was taken.*<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

PAF

My all time favorite airlines is Air India (also Singapore). The service can’t be beat, and I pretend to be an Indian (Brahmin) to get special attention. I always board the plane with Tilk (red paint on my forehead).

Mathay Tilk Laga key, Ne maiN Jana Jogi dey Naal.

Madhanee, don't lie. The Jana Jogi dey Naal part is true for you though.

I know a person who tried what Najim said…and result… They got married within 6-7 months, they have 4 kids, she gained lots of weight… and you can’t even tell that she was ever a PIA airhostess.

So Najim, be carefull.

lol,

well I am already married but I dont tell it to the airhostess if I am gonna flirt with her. :)

Well i flew once from Toulouse (France) to Frankfurt having told Lufthansa that i don't at any pork ..... but they still served me breakfast with pork in it ...... i complained and explained that i mentioned that while booking so the captian himself came to me and gave me his braekfast which was without any meat ...... he also took me to the cockpit and allowed me to take his seat for 1o minutes subject to i don't press any buttons ...... well i didn't press any but boy the view from the cockpit is unique and overwhelming ......

Well my rating of the airlines i flew with

1) Emirates
2) Lufthansa
3) Qantas
4) Air France
5) British Airways
6) PIA
7) Thai Airways
8) Kuwait Airlines
9) Delta Airlines

My rating for all airlines I´ve flown with (except SAS, because I was only 3 back then, ie I can´t remember) would be:

1) PIA (international: 1997, domestic: 1999,2001,2002,2003,2004)
2) Air France (1993)
3) Royal Jordanian (2001,2002)
4) Austrian (1999,2001,2004)
5) British Airways (1991,1996)
6) KLM (2002)
7) Alitalia (2000)
8) Turkish Airlines (1999,2003,2004)
9) Lauda Air (1997)
10) Aerofloat (1987)

I've found PIA to be average in service, but they need to kill their creative director. I think they've served the same dry menu for 20 years.

Emirates is the best damn airline hands down.

British Airways all the way...Followed by Singapore airlines(it was better till 2000,don't know now)..

I hated PIA!! The thought of going on PIA again terrifies me!! The service was HORRIBLE!! After you pay 1000s of dollars, you don’t expect them to lose your luggage and then don’t even re-imburse you for it. I am still disgusted by my experience and it has been 2 years.

Locally, I like Air Tran :k: Delta sucks big time. Every time I go on Delta, the flight gets delayed or the airplane malfunctions.

My preferences

  1. Singapore Airlines
  2. KLM
  3. BA
  4. Delta
  5. Emirates
  6. Others (Air India, Srilankan, Gulf...etc)
  1. PIA (always had a good experience)

  2. Emirates

  3. Swiss

  4. Saudi Airlines

  5. Malaysian

  6. KLM

  7. Gulf Air

  8. American Airlines (bad service)

Jet Blue is the best

I have so far travelled with only 4 airlines..Air Canada, Gulf Air, PIA and Air India..and my favourite airlines is PIA..

I never had any problems with PIA..i love the food, own personalized tv with tons of options for viewing and listening, also the video games..the collection of magazines..and the airhostesses (i always met the friendliest airhostesses)..and i never had the problems with the washrooms either...and their landings and take-offs are very smooth.

When i was going to pakistan and india in the end of march, 2004..PIA started their first new aircraft..and i was on the first flight..When i entered the airport they gave me two boxes of laddu (fresh ones)..and also a single rose..when i proceeded to the lounge they gave me another one :)

and when i was coming back in May..from india to pakistan and then connecting to canada...my husband was in transit (he only had the single entry visa for pakistan)..and i was supposed to go home in karachi and he was supposed to stay there..I told the PIA staff that i can't just leave him here on his own...so they did arranged a family room at the nearby hotel...so i stayed and ate buffet for free :D

Singapore Airlines...best experience so far...even better than Emirates!

definately Singapore Airlines :k:

I have travelled on a number of airlines all over the world. The two best airlines as far as service goes are Qantas and Cathay Pacific. The worst one was Pan American.

Qantas service is out of this world and I for one will always remain very grateful to them. We had travelled to Australia by Qantas on a holiday. My wife and son took the flight from UK and I joined them from Bahrain. The ticket was London/Sydney return. It was a special fare and could only be used on the dates booked. After arriving in Sydney, we went on to Melbourne and then on to Adelaide. While in Adelaide I received a call from my parents at around 9 pm at night informing me that my son was seriously ill and in Intensive care in hospital in UK. I immediately rang Qantas to rearrange my flights back to UK. The women at Qantas initially told me that the I could only travel on the pre booked dates, but when I told her my situation, she worked with me from 9 pm to 3 am trying to contact London get permission for me and my family to travel on the same tickets and book me all the flights. In the end she booked me on a flight from Adelaide to Melbourne at 9 am the following morning and then from Melbourne to Sydney and Sydney to London. We had left some luggage at our Melbourne hotel. My wife went to pick up the luggage while I booked the seats. My wife got delayed and because of the dilemma we were in Qantas delayed the flight by 30 minutes till my wife came back. From Sydney the flight made two stops one at Singapore and the other at Bahrain. At both these stops Qantas took us into their airport office and let us phone the hospital to find out about our son. Finally when we reached London, Heathrow airport was closed due to fog and the flight was diverted to Manchester. After the plane landed at Manchester airport we discussed the situation with Qantas staff and they weren’t sure how long the plane would have to stop at Manchester. We were in a hurry so they let us off the plane there and took our luggage tags. They delivered our luggage to our home three days later. A few days afterwards I received a letter from the airline enquiring about my son's welfare.

Now this is what I call service. They went out of their way to help us in our hour of need.

wow......i have traveled on more than 10 airlines but i have never heard or experienced such a service......my sister who lives in sydney for many years keeps tellin me good things about qantas and now you also confirmed it....i am especially impressed by the letter they send you inquiring about your son's heatlh....this is simply unbelievable....I am impressed

waisay by the way ehsant bhai, you also traveled by Pan-american..... app to waiqay hee bhot puranay hann :)

PIA is a different experience altogether. After a 5 year gap going to and from pakistan had the same crap service. The food on both flights was exactly the same. Some nasty curry with rice going to PAK and from PAK to the UK the same food again with a piece of bread which is the best thing they had. The flight atendants dont even give you a glass of water if you ask (not that they repond to pressing the button) simply say go down the isle join the line and after 5 mins you can pour yourself a drink. From my experince PIA needs to retrain its staff and remember customer is the boss, I know desi people push PIA to limit by turning up late with 50kg in hand luggage being refused flaring up into a fight but end of the day customer not happy not going to keep you alive. The only reason i go on PIA is because my dad says "apna mhulk di airline ah, zrur gorya nu paisa dinay"
