The girls had probably accepted Islam a long time ago…The family must have really put pressure and force upon them not to convert…As a result, the girls ran away…
My own spoken khala (Spoken because she became part of our family), who died a few years back reverted to Islam from Hinduism in the 1920s or 30s…She was punished by having acid rubbed on her forehead (where they put the tilak), beatings, abuse and lockup…
She ran away from her house to live with her aunt who herself had become a Muslim…Family pressures fom parents can sometime get bad, and as a result having no one to turn to, these girls must have taken refuge in the Madrassah…It’s not like they have guns and ammunition in the Madrassah or a Madrassah can hold someone captive like that…It’s a Madrassah, not a jail…
And once when given permission to talk to the parents, why wouldn’t they tell their parents what’s wrong? Since they didn’t, it seems the only plausible reason is that they have run away for refuge in the Madrassah…
Now, we are all desis here and as desis we have a genetic defect in our genes…It is jumping to the worst possible conclusion…And the worse the conclusion, the desier and spicier the mentality…Is it any wonder that the gossip mill and sensationalism is so beloved by our people? There is no practicality, just hearsay…
This mentality has time and again been wonderfully expressed by the likes of PCG who leave no opportunity and chance to drag anyone’s name, reputation and honour through the mud…Rape indeed…
I haven’t read all the replies, just a few initial ones…
Problem is, the wetsern media is now propagandizing against Madrassahs…As a result, faithful pets of the west will run after their quarry to slander and libel it like well trained Pavlov’s dogs…
Even if the Madrassah would actually be giving sanctuary and solace to the girls…
GREAT STORY WRITING MAN, Please can we stay with facts. Now girls are safe with religious maulvis’ let them speak out. Though as I say fanatic minds doesn’t understand it..
