Americans are above International Law. Its ok for themto invade other countries illegally and murder civllians. They are far from perfect. There is a strog VIP culture in America too - the rich and famous get away with a lot. One has to only cite te example of Paris Hilton jailed for a month or less when she should have been jailed for longer.
We dont know what they can get away with to be honest until its splashed around in the media and we know how selective that is.
No system is perfect in the entire world. I have lived in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, England and USA for long periods of time.
I would say in terms of Racism I would rate USA as the best country. USA is the least racism followed by England/Pakistan (same level of racism) and Saudi Arabia being the most racist country that I know off.
Yes there are many examples in USA where rich and powerful are given lesser sentences (OJ Simpson) while poor are given harsher sentences. A lot has to do with how well your legal representation is. A good lawyer can basically scare off the judge with technicalities and make it very hard for his/her client to be prosecuted.
But otherwise USA has a uniform system. A decorated Army Veteran who got shot in his hip which was replaced by a metal hip was forced to strip naked and go through a full body search. This Army veteran was a sitting US Congressman as well. Yet he did not object to the search.
You are again right when you say the US has a different level standards when it comes to International law but then again they are watching for their own national interests. Who does not? India does, China does, all Arab countries do the same.
I would still prefer the US system to any other system I have experienced so far.
