"fat" women

Looking for a woman to marry , liked one girl in pakistan but my sister and mother are insisting she is “too fat”
she is around 170 lb also tall so I dont think its dispropotinate

is this some new fad in pakistan they like really thin girls ? like supermodels

Not necessarily weight-wise, but it's pretty common that in an arranged situation, the women related to the guy will reject a girl based on her looks/body type (too tall, too short, too dark, too fat too thin etc). It's less common that they reject her once the guy has seen and approved though. Maybe they have other reasons for rejecting her that has nothing to do with weight and the weight is just an excuse.

I think arrange marriage is a blessing for desi society. With confidence level/laziness we have, I hardly see girls and guys going out and finding rishtaz for themselves :chai:

Its like a halwa, that our parents put in a spoon and put it in our mouthes … and we say ‘Sorry ammi jee, its not sweet enough. I want that Kulfi from that rehri out side. It looks more yummy and sweet’ :smiley:

it isn’t a new fad..it’s always been there. in pakistan, a girl with a normal sized figure is considered “sehatmund” and the really skinny one’s are considered “smart” :rolleyes:

It’z u who will be marrying the girl, so if u dn’t hav a problem with her, i dnt c y ur mother n sister shud intervene, afterall they are objecting solely because she is slightly chubby, not on any other serious groundz, looks dn’t last forever anyway, so u select sumone who u’ll b happy to spend the rest of ur life with, if u dnt hav a problem with her being chubby, then u shud speak up n tell them that!

hmmm...interesting but dont think thats the case here

my first wife was 100 % mom's choice after her my mom is too scared to make any sweeping statements ....

but generally speaking people think that "chubby" girls are all obese and ugly and only desperate guys go for them. Inreality many guys actually do prefer them over super thin supermodel likes.Most people just cant believe that , most desi guys are particularly obessed with child like looks of aishwariya.I think thats almost bordering on pedophilia.

its also about convenience who wants to talk for hrs on phone with a girl just so that we can “understand each other”
