I've seen thin people with low self-esteem, and sometimes it's more evident in them than in their bigger bodied counterparts. If it's not their weight they're worried about, then it's a zit, or hair, or the length of their feet, etc. I've seen bigger insecurities in pretty girls. And I wonder if this is because they feel more competitive about looks since that's the thing they receive the most attention for.
"Anyone who thinks they are fat and happy are lying!" Do you suppose that a contributing factor of this assumed unhappiness is the amount of societal pressure that bigger people face? Thin and big people both are bombarded by images of society's standards of beauty (tiny waist, big eyes, small nose, long legs, long hair, long eyelashes, full lips, petite features, etc etc.) Were you thinking at all about the "fat" people that might come come across your post? Needless to say, we're all entitled to our opinions, however is there really a fool proof method to measure happiness? I don't think so.

I was never over weight… but still being within my body weight range, I lost 5 pounds!!! I checked yesterday! yey!!!
It feels good. I am back to my college days weight :shoaby:
I think weight looks good on some people. On me - it definitely does not! So happy being back to normal after preggo days …

I have seen some extremely unhappy, insecure skinny people, so no there is no connection.
I've seen some of the above mentioned kind too, skinny girls that are insecure and bitter. They think anyone that isn't a size zero is fat..

Well, in terms of MYSELF, I can tell you I'm perfectly happy in life right now, and I'm putting on weight. Does that bother me? No, because I am eating wonderful food, I am travelling, I am not getting a chance to excercise because of work and my current schedule, and because of my maimed leg.
And to top it off, I fell AGAIN at the airport yesterday, and hit both of my knees. Let's see if I end up having injuries that show up in a day or two - means I am crap out of luck when it comes to being able to work on any machines at the gym.
So, yeah, I'm weighing like 137 now, which is WAAAY over what I should be, and I'm happy. Everyone around me is like, woah, slow down, lose some weight, and I'm like, look, I am happy with my curves and my double chin. So, go * yourself.

Happiness comes from other sources, not just your body image. Although, true, body image certainly helps give you confidence. I just don't buy into this - a woman should look like THIS or THAT. I look the way I look, and that's that.

Fat and ugly people are the ones who are happy because they obviously don't care what other people think. They just continue to eat what they want and not shower.
But hopefully there's a spot for themselves in the hereafter. I doubt anyone wants to be around them.

What about a comparison of hearts? Say, a bigger heart is happier than the smaller one..that's understandable; coz the former definitely embraces all the world's ugliness and forgives its treachery.. but a comparison of body size? I don't think so! Happiness, like all other emotions is just a state of mind..and when your mind co-ordinates well with your heart, you know life is more beautiful than it appeared!

If the girl is alone all her life is that happiness? Society pressurises a woman to get married and I have seen it everywhere that if u are fat and not married society shuns you then what kind of happiness are you getting?
