How many people here know Persian (Farsi) or have interest in it or want to learn it?
Anyone fan of Sa’adi, Hafiz Shiraz, Iqbal (farsi kalaam), Rumi???

What about Omer Khyaam's Rubaaiyaat?
What about Tassuwuf in Farsi, there is a whole lot of work in that area in Farsi? Amir khoosro's farsi art?
I love Farsi! Sounds so good. I wanna learn it!
I studied it as one paper till Std 10th but then left it and forgot everything. :(
I have a big interest in learning it. I just don't know where to go, or who to ask...and where to find the time.
i memorized one shair in persian once..
one time i was visiting a sikh family..they had a big poster of guru nanak ji and they asked me to read a saying on it..coz they thought that it was in urdu..but it was actually persian..but somehow i completely understood the message coz many words in urdu are derived from persian..that's why.
I have read some translation of persian poetry in urdu in grade 10..and i know few words of persian..
other than that..i don't know much farsi.
Thanks for replies guys!
Sehar, same problem here. Being an excellent Urdu student and being a big fan of Sufi poetry, I have been reading Farsi poetry (with urdu translation) for last 7 years. I believe I can now understand atleast 60% of a phrase easily. But still there is big treasure in this rich language that I am missing. I get some help from the online dictionaries like this one, FarsiDic if I encounter a difficult world not found in Salees Urdu or Arabic. I know this is not a right path to choose to learn a language but with Farsi we have an advantage in reading it, if we know urdu well. So with bz schedules and lack of time to attend a Farsi class in school, I some how make this link to this beautiful language online while reading Mathanavi by Molana Rom or Shirazi’s kalaam.
Any helpfull tips or advise in this regards?
