Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

^^ exactly......infact the decision of not going onb Qadsiyya was given by his greatest shura member ...ali...the lion of God...and umar..said after someytimes of thinking that...you are right Abul Hassan....ali then said...O Ameerul Momineen...islamic regime whole spins around you...so Persians will try hard to braek this spin...so its better to sit in madina and made some very great millitary great leader for this fight between arab and Ajam...and then Saad bin Abi Waqas was made leader for this glorious war...

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

When Umar wept bitterly....

On return from conquering Jerusalem..he met near jordan...an old woman...he asked about her condition ..she said*..Woe to umar...he has done nothing for me...umar said..while he was sitting thousands of miles away...how can he know...every person condition...of his regime....*

The woman shouted with anger...if he does not know the conditiuonof his people...then why he rule on us....and umar wept bitterly on hearing this....

Stones in the Kettle...

with his servant ..Asim..umar was on usual roam of madina streets ..came across a house in which children weeping...umar inquired that..a woman was there with spponing the kettle having stones and water in it..with the plea that...no food is available for children....

Umar instantly went Baitul Mal...took all neccessities in a bag on his back..Asim said that..give this bag to me...umar replied..on qiyyamah ..you also take my burden....

Umar came that women home..and helped her in cooking food..and then feed her children while he was watching that....

Stipend of Children .......

Once umar was wandering in madina streets at night came across a weeping child...umar said t mother..what a sort of mother you are.....she replied that...i am trying to wean him..as stipend from umar will start after weaning....

Umar replied..this is cruelty to small child...the woman shouted with anger that...this cruelty is mere responsibility of umar...as she did not recognize umar....umar with tears in his eyes replied that...how much innocent children ..did you harm..O umar....

and he ordered very next day that stipend of every child in 25 Lakh sq, miles regime will get stipend from the day of his birth....

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

Umar and Wine.....

Drinking was very common among the Quraish. Some accounts say that during the days of ignorance even Umar was a wine bibbler. When Umar became a Muslim, he never touched wine. Umar was a great thinker. He thought that as under the influence of drink one becomes oblivious of his duties and responsibilities, drink must be prohibited by an injunction from God. Umar often talked to the Holy Prophet on the subject, and prayed for an injunction to enforce prohibition.

At Madina the following verse was revealed to the Holy prophet:
They ask you about wine and games of chance. Say 'They lead to great sin, and have some use for men. But the sin inherent in them exceeds their usefulness." (2: 219) The Holy Prophet informed Umar of this revelation. Umar said: 'Holy Prophet. This is not enough, pray to God for a specific injunction."

Some time later came another revelation, namely: *"Believers! wine, games of chance, idols, and diving arrows are abominations which are the handiwork of the Devil. Avoid them so that you may prosper." (5: 90) *

When Umar was informed of this revelation, he said: "Holy Prophet; this is a negative provision. Pray to God to give some positive injunction."

Then another verse was revealed which provided: "*The Devil intends that by means of wine, games of chance, he should provoke enmity and hatred among you; and stop you from remembering Allah and saying your prayers. Will you not keep them away from them?" (5: 91) *

This verse provided the necessary sanction for the prohibition of drinking. In spite of this injunction many Muslims continued to indulge in drinking.

Umar Wisdom......
When Umar became the Caliph, and the Muslim conquests extended east and west, bringing prosperity to the Muslims, Umar felt that in order to safeguard the purity of faith some hard and fast policy about drinking should be laid down. While the Holy Qur'an provided specific punishments for some offences, no penalty was specified in the case of drinking. That made some of the wine bibblers take the plea that if God intended prohibition, the penalty for the offence would have been prescribed.

Case in Shura ....
In shura ..umar asked ...is it lawful or unlawful ...all shura decided that unlawful....

then umar asked ..what punishment ..as quran is silent about that....

Intellect and Ruling of Ali ......

Ali argued that the offence of drinking was of the same species as calumny for under the influence of drink one was apt to say many things which he should not have otherwise said. In the case of calumny the Holy Quran provided punishment as follows:

"Give eighty lashes to each one,

Of those who accuse honorable women; **But do not support their accusation with four witnesses.**

*Do not accept their testimony, *

For it is they who break the law."

Ali advised that for drinking the same penalty i. e. eighty lashes should be provided. This advice was accepted by Umar.....

Orders of Umar....
Drinking is banned under the Holy Quran. If any Muslim drinks and pleads that this was lawful then cut off his head for what he says is a violation of the Holy Word. If he says that it is unlawful but that he fell into error then give him eighty lashes publicly."

These instructions were enforced vigorously, and the Muslim society was practically rid of the evil of drinking.....

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

Umar control of Sexual Laxity .....

  • while arab poetry was famous for vulgarity..and loving affairs..umar put a strict ban on naming the ladies in poetic verses...and all those who broke theis laws..those poets were punished and flogged

*** when many people statrted taking **Mutah as a curtain of legal prostitution...umar banned this practise of Mutah.....Umar elaborated that the purpose of marriage was to set up homes with a view to getting children and Mutah negated such objects. Moreover in the case of Mutah the children born of such union were to be subject to social disability which was detrimental to social order.

Divorce is the worst allowed thing ......umar banned the **3 divorces* at a time....to save the institution of house..and ordered that 3 divorces at a time will be consider only 1...

***** with the conquest of Iraq and Syria....the beautiful women attracted the muslims warriors and they started giving talaqs to thier arabian wifes to marry them

Hudhaifa was the administrator of al Madina and he married a Christian beauty of Iraq. When this was brought to the notice of Umar he required Hudhaifa to divorce the Christian beauty, Hudhaifa said that he would not comply with the order unless he was told whether his marriage was unlawful or else; the Caliph referred to the authority under which he wanted him (Hudhaifa) to divorce his legally wedded wife.

Umar wrote to say that the marriage he had contracted was not unlawful, but he had been advised to divorce the Christian beauty as it was bound to adversely affect the interests of Arab ladies. Moreover if the Muslims married non-Muslim ladies merely for their beauty that would encourage sexual laxity. Thereupon Hudhaifa divorced his Christian wife.

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

I believe you are wrong here.
He did the opposite. Which is quite commonly known bid'ah started by Hazrat Umar (ra).

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

^^ here I quote the whole paragraph..actually it was long..in very detail..i just summarized it...

Under the Islamic law divorce was permissible. The Holy Prophet however took pains to explain that divorces which disrupted family life were distasteful to God. People were enjoined not to be hasty in the matter of divorce. Divorce could be effective only when three divorces were given. The idea was to provide some opportunity for reconciliation. When under Umar more countries were conquered and women from other countries became available for the Muslims, some Muslims resorted to the practice of announcing three divorces simultaneously. In order to put a stop to this unsocial practice Umar laid down that if a person gave three talaqs simultaneously such divorce would be *irrevocable. *

i have checked the online dictionary ..which says...irrevocable = unchangeable...

i do not know what the meaning that this talaq will be unchangeable .....???

but once i heard that..if you give 3 talaqs..it will be considered as one...to give time ...to reconsider it..i thought that the same thing is mentioning here...still i am in doubt....

anybody...or Code_Red...can you plz. explain that...

Re: unparalleled … unparalleled … unparalleled …

brother ..i came across some more material…which is very informative for a man like you who have a deep and excellent command of history…

About 100 years ago Haj Sayyah wrote in his journal:

"People wearing turbans are seen everywhere. Most occupy key positions and nobody seems to know who is intellectually qualified and who is simply illiterate. All have Ayatollah, Hojat-ol-Eslam, Sheikh or Mullah in front of their names. Their job is to do whatever they think is right which sometimes means killing people. They buy and sell Heaven and Hell.

**No one has the guts to say anything to them. No one can tell them that they are lying. No one can say or do otherwise lest they be persecuted in the name of religion. They say you cannot criticize religion. If you defy, they accuse you of defying god and his prophet. No one can call them simply “priest”. They must be addressed as Ayatollah or Hojatoleslam. They have their own vigilantes to force you to obey them. **

People have a thick dust of gloom on their sad faces and shoulders. They are pale, skinny and wearing dirty clothes. Their faces are sad with down-turned mouths. Their eyes stare at the ground. It looks as if these people never knew about happiness or life. Nothing can be heard but crying and mourning. Nothing is left of Islam but praying, pilgrimage and following coffins! The real Islamic teaching has been abandoned. In this way Iran not only was unable to achieve what was possible to achieve, but also lost even whatever it already had."

During the first 1400 years of the past two millenniums, Iran was a super power. In fact for 200 years of the past 1400 years Iran was the sole super power with many contributions to science and culture. But in the second 1400 years (after Arabs conquest) Iran lost its glory and became part of Arab and Turkish kingdoms.

During the first 1400 years of Iran’s history, no Iranian was killed by an Iranian to gain power. During the second 1400 years (to the present) many Iranians have betrayed Iranians, taken Iranian eye or life! More women and girls have been sold as slaves, more men have had to serve as servants.

At first Iranians felt insulted by what the Arabs had introduced. Out in public they had to pretend that they were Muslims, in private they followed their own religion (Zoroastrianism).

Anytime they found a good opportunity, they revolted and fought with the Arabs. We cannot deny the fact that Islam and/or the Arabs dominated Iran by force and with the edge of their swords.

The Arabs moved to North Africa, Spain and France. It was only in Poitier, France that their swords became blunt and they lost their power.

At no given time did the Arabs/Muslims bring equality or freedom to the defeated people, neither in Iran nor in other places. Such historical lies should not be believed.

One thing for sure was delivered, prejudice and hatred! The Arabs believed that they were beyond and above others, Iranians in particular. They said: “three things may nullify prayers: a Dog, a Donkey and an Iranian”

When the Arabs attacked Byzance (Eastern Rome), the people of Byzance accepted a second imported religion, following Judeo-Christianity. Their God did not change. It was no problem for them to change their Master, because their God remained the same.

At the time the Arabs conquered Iran, it was not a colony of some other Empire, but by itself, one of the biggest kingdoms. Iran had its own religion which was older than Judaism and Christianity. The Iranian language was Arian and had no relationship to Arabic.

Renan once said: "Iran did accept Islam, but never was defeated by the Arabs or their poor culture. In a very short period of time Iranians gained their freedom from Arabs. 100 years after Mohammed (Prophet) nothing was left from his land and kingdom, which once stretched from Malaysia to Morocco!"

We cannot compare Iran to other countries in the region (Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Saudi Arabia etc.,) as they were introduced to variety of religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) Iranians on their part alone provided the world with Mithraism, Zoroastrianism and Manichaeism.

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

It is quite simple. You are mindlessly copy pasting stuff without reading it.

If you dont have sufficient knowledge or understanding about what you are pasting here, then first read them yourself.

This is serious stuff and your claim is wrong. Hazrat Umar (ra) was indeed a noble companion and has great services for Islam. But at the same time he, or any other Sahaba were not free from error and mistakes.

They were not angels. They had differences among them and it had lasting impact.

Apply brakes on your hasty copy paste.
Now Please remove tinted spectacles, which shows you only the exagerated praise of companions, do some clinical research from authentic sources on these topics and come back and tell us about your findings.

Re: unparalleled … unparalleled … unparalleled …

** A letter from Irani Nationalist **

Pirouz

Dear Ali,

I read through most of your entire site, as well as some of the letters, and so decided to write a letter myself. I will keep this short and sweet, as the words I am about to say no doubt have already been said more eloquently.

When I was younger, I was extremely superstitious. I thought that by uttering a few magic words, such as “La Ilaha Ilah Allah” or “Allahu Akbar” I could make everything turn in my favour. However, I also read the Qur’an - and was ready to question it. When I was younger, some things I read in the Qur’an simply sounded absurd to me, and I would wonder if the Qur’an actually came from Allah or Shaytaan.

Then, like most people in this situation, I chose to block the bad stuff out of my mind. I explained it as something “inexplainable”. I was told that it had a spiritual meaning aswell as a literal, and the bad verses, I chose to take as a spiritual meaning.

For example, the terrible and torturous things that were to happen to Abu Lahab from the hands of Allah, and his wife also! I thought to myself, this cannot be serious - so I naturally applied another meaning to it.

But then I began to study Islamic history, and all these pieces were put together. Rather than being compassionate, and merciful, this is what I found…

Muhammad at first taught peace and patience with the unbelievers. Then, when he acquired an army and enough support, he flipped the card upside down. Suddenly he had the “divine right” to slaughter thousands of innocent people, take Mecca by conquest, and preach hate and division amongst the people.

Abu Bakr could give his 7 year old daughter in marriage to the “prophet”. This ruined her life, and for what? So that Abu Bakr could have power? Abu Bakr, who was supposed to be granted a spot in paradise… Abu Bakr, who invaded Egypt and looted so much riches that he didn’t know what to do with it all.

And in Islamic History, who else was granted a place in paradise? Omar Al-Khattab. He invaded our beloved Persia, destroying, looting and raping. Like the Taleban and the** Pakistanis in their invasion of Bangladesh**, Omar forced non-Muslims to identify themselves with humiliating badges, and he forced the “people of the book” to pay their taxes in a most disgusting fashion. He destroyed our libraries and burned the books, labelling them “kufer” (i.e. something that he has no understanding of).

So why is it that in Iran and Afghanistan, we now worship these people? As a Persian poet said:

Be shakast Omar pusht-e-hazhbaraan ajam raa
Bar baad-e-fanaa daad rak o risha-e-jam raa
In arbada bar ghaseb-e-khelaafat za Ali nist
Baa aal-e-Omar kina qadeem ast ajam raa

I believe that in the past, our people who were closer to the invasion could see what was happening. Even a few hundred years after, people knew clearly what was going on. The situation is ideally symbolised in Ferdowsi’s “Shah Nama”, where the tyrant Zahhak from Arabia takes the throne, and a thousand years of horror and decay in the empire follow.

I believe however, that as time has gone by, people have not been able to differentiate between Persia and Islam. Even though Pirouz who stabbed Omar was able to see the trouble that Islam had brought to the land, his descendents will have always thought that Islam was a part of the land. It wasn’t. There was just no alternative to accepting this religion… it is said that the Persians were given 3 options by a messenger of the invading Arabs: Either accept Islam, accept taxes, or accept the sword.

Now to you, does this sound like the work of God?

Take care,
B. Pirouz

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

totally wrong....who says that i copy pasted blindly.....

he stuff is so long and the achievements of umar are so great if i start writing till my last breath of 60 years average..evn then it will not end....

Secondly...i do not mere copy pasting...most of the posts and stuff was that already i once read in different books....this site also...i summarized to the maximum so that to give the maximun in minimum time and space....

Thirdly...i never said that he was free from sins or masooms....regarding differences..i do not see any "lasting effect".....as people make the mole of mountain...
you claimed that it was "Biddah" by umar....

then these were also Biddah....as per your definition....

  • quran collection *addiition of azan in fajr *80 lashes on wine drinking *prohibition of mutah *stariting of taraweeh wand the list goes on.....

I do not know ..why people do not differentiate between Bidaah saaiheeah and biddah ghiar sahheah..

fourthly...are the posts from 107 to 110 are also copy pasting...not at all....Only at wine issue..i took most part...as it deals with great detail...i also firsttime come across...about the ruling of ali...etc...

fifthly...not spectacles of exagerrations..or monocles of praises...but umar ...the faqeehul azam...even deserve more praises and words ..than i or other respectable readers have written...and i have no doubt about that.....

Sixthly...why i need to reserch that...are these matters are so complex that...i have to look for 10 11 fiqah books of different schools to get to any firm solution....all are history incidences..almost all good history books have quoted that....regarding about talaq...i am also sure about that.....its the only word "irrevocable" that confused me ....although i have given the whole paragraph..which shows what i presented about talaq....but i am not ascholar of anything specially fiqah...and talaq matters are very complex..like giving tallaq ..in pregnancy..mensuration...idda...khula...mehar...and Zihar etc...so that i cannot say anything with surity..i will inshallah search this point more ...

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

Ok i get i...sorry i was wrong....the related part of fatwa is that....

** If three divorces have taken place, and the woman has become irrevocably divorced from her husband, then she is not permissible for him unless she marries another a husband in a real marriage, not a marriage aimed at circumventing this ruling, and he has intercourse with her, then dies or divorces her. In that case the first husband can marry her in a new marriage contract and with a new mahr. **

so..according to my little knowledge..umar said ..if a man gives simultaneously 3 talaqs...then divorce actually happened...no way left to reunite spouses again...

but still i am in doubt that...some scholars say..only 1 talaq happened....

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

Why umar not appointed Ali..Usman..talha and Zubair as Governor .....

Around Umar there were such prominent persons as Usman Ali, Zubair, Talha and others. Umar did not offer them any office. Some one asked Umar why did he not appoint such prominent persons as Governors. Umar said, "These notables occupy a high status because of their virtues and other qualities. I do not appoint them as Governors lest for any lapse they may lose the prominence they enjoy at present."

Governor of Kufa...a headache !!!!!

**The appointment of Governor for Kufa became a matter of great headache for Umar. If he appointed a man who was harsh and stern the people complained against him. If he appointed a soft hearted man, the people took advantage of his leniency. Umar wanted his comrades to advise him regarding the selection of a right man for the office of the Governor of Kufa. One man rose up to say that he could suggest a man who would be the fittest person for the job: Umar enquired who was he, and the man said,", Abdullah bin Umar" Umar said, "May God curse you, you want that I should expose myself to the criticism that I have appointed my son to a high office. That can never be".

Umar Bud-Dua to Kufis !!!!!!
It is related that the people of Kufa pelted their Governor with stones. When Umar heard of this he was much annoyed. He was distracted even in his prayer. When he came to the salutation he said:**

*"O God verily they have put confusion on me. O Allah you put confusion upon them, and place over them a youth of the Banu Thaqif who may rule over them after the manner of the rule of the time of Ignorance." *

*This forecast came true when al Hajjaj came to rule over Iraq in the time of the Umayyads.is !!!!!!*

**

for 1400 year...these people are in confusion !!!!!

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

**keep guard on house*
**close thier door*

**A complete investigation of pre and post income of every officer...if any differences..strict action by umar and his land and wealth was grabbed by government*..

Intellegence.... beyond ISI !!!!!

umar intelligence system was the best...his chief intelligence officer was Muhammad bin muslama ansari...undisputed personality.....while sitting in madina..umar also knew what is happening in the far village of khurasan..thousands of miles away...the all officers used to tremble with fear of this intelligence of umar....sometimes Muslma himself reached the spot and decided..sometimes set it to umar at medina..also inquiry commission sometimes set up for justice....

Re: unparalleled ..... unparalleled .... unparalleled ....

Once Hz. Ali bin Abi Talib (karamallah wajhu) was asked by his follower as to why he was not ‘successful’ compared to the three earlier Khaleefs, he replied to the effect: “The earlier Khaleefs (May Allah be pleased with them) had likes of me as their advisor and it is my misfortune to have likes of you as mine.”
